Never done them here. But I notice alot of gay men are into using it during sex. What are the sexual benefits of using poppers? Does it make you cum faster? Or does it make you last longer?

I'm looking for something to make make me cum faster because it takes forever for me to cum. Especially when wearing condoms. I can't cum at all with a condom on. I stay hard. I just don't climax unless I take it off and I never do penetration without condoms. Would poppers help with this? Or make me last even longer?

In my experience poppers will "help" you take more risks - unsafe sex, rimming etc. If you can handle the stink, they reduce your inhibitions and may assist with fulfilling your fantasies. On the other hand, some people lose all interest in sex when poppers are around simply because of the smell.

I doubt poppers in and of themselves contribute to riskier sex. The medical use of poppers (at least the "real" kind known as amyl nitrite) is as a vasodilator, and was once used as such for heart patients before nitroglycerin came along. Whether it is urban legend or not, I've heard that they once were freely available until the federal government discovered people were actually having fun with them.

Poppers today are always some form of a nitrate, rather than a nitrite, and are not quite as effective, in my opinion. (I used to have a boyfriend who was a chemist by trade, and he knew how to make the real stuff; he always said it was a pretty dangerous process as amyl nitrite is quite volatile.)

So, they might help achieve and maintain an erection due to their effects on blood flow, and they do for the same reasons instill a sense of "euphoria", for lack of a better term. So, they do tend to make me cum quicker; your mileage may vary.

The effect is fairly transient, so if a few seconds of euphoria lead some to risky activities, then "caveat user". :rolleyes:

In the US, amyl nitrite has been available by prescription only for many years; the substance commonly referred to as "poppers" is usually a related, less potent, compound known as butyl nitrite. I learned this during a fling with a pharmacist, who always was able to get "only the finest." But rjay and the Bondsman are correct: there are risks associated with either one, but the two together are a recipe for suicide!

Just saw your post about poppers. There's a lot of misinformation about poppers floating around; for example that they cause AIDS, or KS, that they cause heart attacks, that people have died from using them, that there are lots of deaths attributed to poppers and viagra used together. All of this is false.

These compounds are the closest thing to a true aphrodisiac as there is (there are not true aphrodisiacs; nothing can create a sex desire if it's not already there, but poppers are the one things that can greatly enhance sex).

They are perfectly safe, do not cause AIDS or any of it's opportunistic infections (including KS), there are no documented cases of anyone dying from using them with Viagra (though it's not recommended to do so, and iof you do use caution!).

If you have high blood pressure I DO NOT recommend you use poppers(butyl nitrate).I like to have lost my lifemate from a heart attack,high blood pressure meds and popper/Viagra can be a deadly combination.

I also think, leaving aside the argument about medical risks, that if someone can't enjoy sex without sniffing the stuff, they have a problem.
