Of course i'm going to promote long underwear - I think they're one of the hotest forms of underwear!
Personally, when I see guys in long underwear, I think of my youth and of camping in the winter with my father and his friends - after ice fishing or ski-dooing all day my father and his friends would return to our cabin (very rustic) remove their snow gear and gather around the fire at a cabin - and of course, all they'd have on is their white longjohns. what a turn on!
Union suits weren't worn where I grew up, but after seeing all the guys on LongJohnsDE's yahoo groups, I find them sexy also.

There may be only a few of us who love long underwear, but I hope we make up for it with enthusiasm:D
(BTW look at the poll - there's more than one of two guys like long underwear:) ).

that's really fun, but I really prefer the plain ones!
I had never heard about unionsuits. I even wouldn't know how they call them in German, Dutch or French. I will look for it in the stores. Packagings often are in Dutch and French here.

Unionsuits was/is an American Tradition, started when the gold miners started moving west and froze the assets off. The actual name of them is Long Underwear, with a slang name of Long Johns. Now, most guys wear the "modern" long underwear, which separate drawers and tops -- with long legs and long sleves.
When I was stationed in England a number of years ago, they were referred to as Winter Vests and Winter Pants. But, I don't know what they would call them in Germany or France.
There is a good history of underwear at http://www.apparelsearch.com/Definitions/Clothing/underwear_definition.htm

I live in Indiana, and there are about 6 months of weather for this kind of apparel. The fact that they are warm (keeps those balls hanging), and there is always the possibility of a rear door guest, OOOHHHH well. Anyone want me to post Unionsuit pics, and I will!

Ok all you Lj-lovin' guys, ...what with the northern winter that has just been freezin' your gonads off, I thought that this site would be featuring quite a few shots of sexy Ljs, ......but I've seen virtually none.
Now I am very partial to this form of underwear, but you just can't wear it here where I live at all for climatic reasons, so I'm depending on you northerners to show us the goods. Love a guy who knows what to do in his sexy Ljs, but no pics? You know, the roaring log fire, lying on the bear-skin rug in your white Ljs, exploring the sexy fly front on long winter evenings....etc.etc.
Does this mean that you all go through the cold winter skiing in your G-strings? Does no-one own up to wearing such garments?
I can't believe that really, so let's see some sexy shots here!
Remember, briefer may not always be sexier..... ;)

I saved up when I was 14 an bought a stanfields short sleeve white union suit. I had already been j-o since I was elven but I ran home put on a jockstrap on slipped 'em on. I was in heaven. I jacked of in that union suit for years until I HAD to throw them away...... sigh those were the good ole days.

I've been a fan of long underwear since my youth, growing up in rural Michigan during the 1950s/60s. Longjohns were "de rigueur" for boys with paper routes or for wintertime sports. And more than a few of us wore longjohns daily under our school clothes.
It wasn't until high school and college (when I started purchasing my own underwear) however that I really began to take erotic pleasure from long underwear. The first time I pulled on a unionsuit I jizzed myself instanstaneously!
Today, I still like to wear long underwear whenever the weather in Illinois permits, generally mid-October through April. During the summer I will occasionally crank down the AC and wear them to bed at night. I like both unionsuits and two piece longjohns and usually purchase them mail order, from Stanfields in Nova Scotia.

Yeah briefer, add me to the list of fans of your most excellent shots of your Lj's.
Particularly liked the fly-front and that sexy double backside too!
VERY hard to find anything like this here in Australia, ....specially round where I live due to the lack of serious winter.
Nice to see you enjoy lounging around in your's though.
I have a few I bought overseas, and occasionally put 'em on for fun, but you certainly couldn't wear 'em out.

but my next postings definitely have to appear in the x-rated user galleries ...regards, briefer
Well I DEFINITELY like what I see, ...to hell with the neighhbours!
Will certainly look forward to those X rated shots, ...pm me a heads-up so I get to see them soon!
As you know it's technically "winter" here right now, and it was a bit cool last night and I wore MY JOCKEY Lj's with the Y-front fly. Felt amazingly sexy and fun too, ....but had hard time keeping my constantly stiffening pole INSIDE that fly-front of those Lj's, ...or my hands outside it!
This is an area of the underwear experience I would certainly like to explore further. maybe I'll move to Canada so I can play lumberjacks?

When I think about my introduction to longjohns, it was trying on some of my dad's military issue, wool underwear from the 1940's - pretty itchy stuff and my twelve-year-old peepee kept popping out of the button, yoke front. I later tried on one of my grandfather's unionsuits and guess what? Junior popped up again. Hmm! One of my buddies in junior high school had a rural paper route and I used to see him in his long underwear occasionally before gym class. Wow, what a sight! I was hooked from age 13.
After I started buying most of my own clothes, I was always on the lookout for long underwear in retail stores. Mail order catalogs were my mainstay however. I still look forward to the Autumn/Winter J.C. Penny catalogue.
Now at age 59, I wear longjohns and unionsuits 6-8 months of the year.

Hey guys,
I came across a 1970 Fall & Winter Montgomery Ward's catalogue today in an antique shop. I checked out the long underwear ads. Just like a meeting of old friends, I immediately recognized all those guys in their shirts and drawers and unionsuits. Stirred my heart as well as something else! Oh, for the good old days of long underwear advertising.

Hi I have been a long john, union suit , thermal underwear, lover ever since I have been a little kid.
When I was younger I wore them everyday, so I could JO, sometimes a few times a day.
I sitting here right now in my red doufold unionsuit, my standard evening wear.
Everyday I wear 1 to 2 pairs of rachel knit Lj's, I havs dozens of them, not only thermal, poly porpoline, expedition weight, polar weight, and I don't know if you ever heard of refrigawear, I reserve those for only the coldest of times, very warm and heavy..... :D

Ya, I wear my red unionsuit, almost everyday, after I come back from my walk, I remove my wet sweaty LJ's, and put on my red douofold, unionsiut, and go on line for a few hours everyday.
but being it's morning here now, I have on my rachel knit 2 peice, LJ's, to start the day, 2 shirts, and 2 pants, I love the thickness.
It was verycold last week here an on my daily walk, I wore my refrigawear, insulated 2 peice, set, I look like the michlin man, but I don't care It was 13 degreese, with a -7 wind chill, I would rather be hot, than cold any day.
Like you red unionsuit, is it cotten, or douofold, I have a few different kinds of unionsuits, one from cabelas, that zips up front and in back, the back zip is horizontal, but they don't have them any more, and a few from sportsmas guide. Just a long john junkie

I'll drink to that. It's another Saturday night and I'm sitting here in a Medium short-sleeve-long-legged white unionsuit, a glass of wine in one hand, my water pistol in the other wishing we could all get together and enjoy the adventure of ,well, we're not amatures really, no, we are professional men in unionsuits. It's serious business for some of us out here, home on the range. And remember we carry on a long, and proud tradition. John Glenn wore a unionsuit, and so did Ernest Hemingway.

Your right, I cant see why people, don't use them that much anymore, I wish there were more choices, I like rachel knit, poly/cotton, long johns, because I sweat heavily when exerciseing outdoors, and the cotton unionsuits just get wet and cold, and the dou-fold isn't much better.
I used to get polyblend suits way back, in grade school, but the ony thing I see lately, is some mircrofiber suits, and they irratate my skin when wet, form sweat, I have 2 of those, that I wear once and a while when I go plowing snow, but I just sit in the cab and don't work up a sweat.

Me also I had one a long time ago, it was a small and it was so itchy, I loved it, I haven't been in the place where I got it in a long time, it was in an army&navy surplus store in Scranton, I should go take a look maybe ther is something there, it's oneof those stores that never throws anything away, If they have any I let you know....B

Something pretty interesting happened yesterday in the long underwear world. One of the men on this sight, you may know him as Old Hippie, has decided to only wear unionsuits for the rest of the year. It's probably too early to say if this is the beginning of a movement or not, but for him it's no longer a question of briefs or boxers. That's a moot point. Ron is committed to spending the year in only his long-sleeve-long-leg red unionsuit. I for one will be following Ron closely, it's not difficult to wear a unionsuit this time of year but come June and July that's another matter. It has been done before though, years ago it wasn't just farmers and cowboys who wore unionsuits. Your Doctors and Lawyers wore them, the Teacher at the school, even your Minister wore them, very often for most of the year. I'm not saying that this is for everyone, and I know it would be difficult for many of you fellows to give up your jocks, or briefs, or boxers. But on those days when it gets a bit chilly in your neck of the woods why not rise up to the ocassion and change? You don't have to get chilled. And if you must, leave your favorite skivvies on. Just slip a nice warm pair of long johns on over them. Enjoy the magic. Oh, and by the way Ron. There are a number of us out here who will be watching and rooting for you. I know you can do it unionsuit buddy. Good Luck  [/I] just letting everybody know I am still unionsuited

You know, they used to make summer union suits, I haven't seen one in 20 years, but they were light weight flannel, mostly white, my grampa used to wear them.
AS far as unionsuits go in this area, they were quite popular, because a lot of people worked in the mines, and they were more comfortable to wear, because you didn't have to pick up you pants and drawars evertime you moved or stood up, I remember seeing unionsuits on clothslines, all over the place when I was younger....

Hello B, you mention summer unionsuits. I like lightweight unionsuits the best myself because I find I can wear them a lot longer than heavier ones. An old guy two doors away from me wore unionsuits probably most of the year. I used to love walking out and seeing his unionsuits on the clothesline. There was an air of freedom about them. I wonder if we can tell something about a man by the choice of skivvies he makes?

Ya I remember a guy in ore town a little walk form my house, he had a speakeasy, not like the ones from prohibition, but a small store that sold soda, chips, and people hung out played cards, and sold beer to anybody with money to spend, he wore 2 unionsuits all year long.
About a guy and his skivvies, if he wears unionsuits he is obviously smarter than all around him, he knows about comfort and warmth, and how to look goood!......

I never did "snitch" any of those unionsuits from my neighbor. But years ago when I worked at the foundry and lots of guys still were wearing them , there were several guys I'd of loved to snitch one from. Today I'm a janitor in a High School and there are underwear sightings all day long. Once I was cleaning in the coaches locker room and I noticed something red sticking out of his gym bag. Damn if it wasn't a red unionsuit. I finished up, went on with my work, then thought what the hell. I went back and put it on until it was time to go.Of course whenever I saw that coach I felt that we had a real bond going on. Of course we did. We were unionsuit brothers. How about you other fellows? :D [/B] were you ever tempted to "snitch" 1or2 of his unionsuits?

Here's something I just remembered from my union suit past. When I was going to college in the early 1970's. I met this fellow in class who also wore union suits. Where I was sorta in the closet about my choice he was Mister Obvious. He made sure everyone knew that he wore a union suit. We'd be in the cafateria and he'd be reaching through his shirt, run his hand down through the leg of his underwear and then wave at you. Where the snitching part comes in he said he took the union suit from his grandfather's house. Apparently it was on his grandfather's bed and when he saw it there he decided to give it a try. When his grandfather asked him about it, he said he didn't take it. So be careful this fellow is out there somewhere. :) I sure wish I'd meet up with him again.

Me in the summer mostly commando, after wearing long underwear all winter and most of the spring, just confineing my guys to a pair of briefs, rubs me the wrong way, sort of speak.
Like yesterday here it was on the warmer side, so after my dayly walk, I took off my soaked thermals, and put on a set of well worn 5 year old thermals that have been through the wash a thousand times, which are now on the thin side, and a pair of shorts, to go and wash my truck at the local coin-op car wash, it was nice out so you got to wear shorts when its nice out, I just wear long underwear under them, it wasn't that warm!
And today they said it was going to hit 70, so I only put one pair or thermals on, I always have trouble giving up on my long underwear, this time of year, I love wearing them, so much, most of the time in the summer when the A/C is on in the house I have them on....

I know what you mean about having trouble giving up on your long underwear as the weather gets warmer. I've been trying to wear a unionsuit as much as possible, and today it's back to a long-sleeve-long-leg unionsuit for me. It's pretty much what our grandfathers were wearing a short sixty years ago. If you try to remember you can almost see them flapping on the clothes line. Listen hard and you will hear them flaping in the wind. If only I had a 1931 Ford to go with them.........

Ya back before everyone had a cloths dryer, I would watch all the cloths lines, and see who had the unionsuits, I don't know why but I always remember a cloths line with a short sleved unionsuit, flapping in the breeze, maybe it was something different than the long sleeve unionsuit I was wearing at the time, but the sight a of a unionsuit still turns me on till today.

The weather here is slow in warming up, one day it warm and the next cold, so I just have been putting on my long underwear every morning, I don't mind wearing them at all, I alway enjoyed them even as a kid, so what if it gets a little warm, I keep my Lj's on as long as I can, I still wear them for hanging around the house, I spend a lot of time sitting, ad I get cold, so I wear them just sitting here, cruseing the web....

I just stopped in to catch up on do-ins and noticed you were looking for the short sleeve unionsuits. Well look no further. The only place in the states to sell-um is Chock Catalogue of New York. They sell foe $21.00 and the sleeveless short leg union sells for $18.00. I hope this helps. I am still looking for the short/leg/sleeve union but the only ones I find are on e-bay and too costly. I have worn them since I was 18 yeasr. I live on the gulf coast also. I find them comfortable. plhcrafter
