Although I'm Canadian, USG-online and Un-der-wear.com (and these boards) are hosted in the US. As a political stunt, John Ashcroft is trying to push through new 2257 regulations that will make running an adult site close to impossible without criminal charges being laid against the webmaster.

What this will mean for this site is that I will require photo I.D (and not just any i.d. there's stipulations on what constitutes proper I.D.) for anybody posting photos here on the boards. I simply will not even attempt to do this - people's privacy is far to important.

This legislation is, as I said, an obvious political stunt to get Bush re-elected. It appears it has the governents full support and they are getting tons of money behind it and creating a task force to police it.

At this point, all I'm asking our American friends to do is.....VOTE!!!

Thanks for letting us know. Believe me when I say that it certainly doesn't change my view, as I have no idea how anyone could be voting for Bush......but it is certainly one to pass one to any of those that I know are thinking about it - I wonder if I know any?

You poor Yanks might have Bush, but here in Australia we have the next worst thing, ..."Bonsai" (that's a little Bush, donchaknow!)
"Bonsai" Howard just idolises Bush and is trying to initiate repressive laws here in imitation of his pin-up boy....he's just done-over Gay marriage.
Our own government has been taken over by fundamental religious freakazoids too!
Look, if you guys can do your part over there and get the weed-killer onto your Bush, then our bloody "cutting" will surely wither and die!
Extreme right-wing, bible-bashing, religious fundamentalists seem to be uniting everywhere, and getting a totally disproportionate voice in the affairs of the rest of us.
Are there any sane voters left over there? Your lead-up to the election over there seems like some insane travelling carnival to us, but surely, surely some sanity will prevail....no?

Maybe the solution is to move the sites over to the Gay Kingdom (http://www.ssonet.com.au/display.asp?ArticleID=3477) . I'm happy here in Canada but hosting adult sites from here could be a problem due to cost. My hosting company that i'm using right now is excellent, priced fairly, and have excellent customer service.

Bush and his cronies are trying their best to bully us Canadians, but so far we're standing our ground. Gay marriage is here and marijauna is close to being decriminilized. You just know Bush is steaming from the ears over this.
