Have you ever gone in a public swimming pool naked?

Yes, I have. And, I got caught by a kids swimming lesson class one time.
I was in Atlanta, Georgia, at the YMCA, and they not only allowed swimming naked, but encouraged it. So, one day after my workout, I stripped off my gym clothes, took a quick shower and headed to the pool. After a few laps, I stopped to rest against the side ot the pool and looked up to see a bunch of kids, both boys and girls, and a female teacher, waiting for me to get out of the pool so they could have their swimming lesson. There were a couple other guys still swimming -- one doing backstrokes -- and I had to interrupt them so we could try to escape. The teacher had to get us towels to wrap ourselves in as we quietly left the pool
We had a big laugh about that after we got back to the showers.

One of my goals has been to skinnydip in the pool of every major resort in the Phoenix area-including the five star establishments. I have done quite a few of them so far. :D

Well, I'm going to have to hedge a bit, and answer, "sort of!" I used to enjoy diving off of the towers at a local college pool, and would frequently hit the water so hard that my Speedos--even with a tight drawstring--occasionally were ripped off of me. Unfortunately :( , I was always able to catch them with my ankles, and at a depth of about 10 feet, there was sufficient time to make sure that my suit was in place by the time I reached the surface.

Really? Is this a pretty common thing with diving, such that it would likely happen during a competition? I may just have to start attending a few such at the area's universities if so. :moon

nutmuzzler--SSL (Sudden Speedo Loss) is indeed common wherever divers gather to do their thing, and in fact, I think it happened as recently as the August Olypmpics in Athens, although I can't remember which diver succumbed to the syndrome (we here in the U.S. were fortunate enough to have vigilant editors, so that we were spared having to endure watching the awful event!). And yes, college pools are extremely fun places to hang out! For any number of reasons. . . . :bath

Yes it did indeed JohnH, ....and because our editors here are either less vigilant, ...or the watchdogs were off in church, we were treated to the wardrobe malfunction courtesy of some excellent camera work.
Gotta love those underwater cameras, ...they work particularly well in the men's water-polo too!
There sure are some VERY interesting holds going on in that sport!

I'm afraid so. Every time I stay in a resort hotel I get an irresistable urge to swim the pool naked. So I do. Not when it's full of dressed people, but when it's quiet and I think I can just get away with it. Sometimes I have to stay in longer than intended, until spectators go away! Do I get hard doing that? of course. :hump

All the time, usually my pool here in Phoenix, but also at Little Beach in Maui, Pirates Cove in California, and Haulover in Florida

I know Pirates Cove quite well! Used to visit it often when my parents were living in Morro Bay. Also, most of my "platform diving" wherein I'd sometimes lose my suit, took place at the nearby Cuesta College pool.

Clearly this never happened to Greg Louganis, otherwise I would surely have heard about it by now!
Regarding going naked in a public pool, I have never had any particular desire to do so, though I have sometimes pushed the envelope a bit in what I was wearing. I have worn the red Kiniki briefs a few times, they are technically underwear but are difficult to distinguish from swimwear. I wore the Skinzwear tanga (as in my avatar) once at the local pool, more or less as a dare to myself.
The closest I actually got to being naked in a public pool was at the Melbourne City Baths when I was about 10. Most Aussie children learn to swim at an early age, but I was a slow learner in that regard so my Mother used to take me along to the City Baths one night a week for lessons. They have (or had) private changing cubicles next to the pool, as well as the main changing rooms. So I went in there to change... must have got preoccupied with thinking about something, and walked out stark naked... wondered why everyone was staring at me, including my mother who was sitting at the far end of the pool. Then some man said "Shouldn't you have your bathers on?" and I looked down and thought yes, I should indeed, and went back post haste into the cubicle to put 'em on.
Incidentally it was at that same place, some years later, where I lost my virginity (which I define as the first time I actually came with another man). And in case any non-Australian members are unaware, "Baths" in this country does not refer to a gay establishment, it simply means a public swimming centre. These days they are more likely to be called "Aquatic Centre" or "Aquatic Leisure Centre".
Is this a pretty common thing with diving, such that it would likely happen during a competition?

Swimming naked was the most normal thing at the YMCA's the world over. I was a Y member for many years and I had the pleasure to have naked swim training twice a week together with a dozen of other men. And we would come for an "open" swim session at least two times more. I think that naked swimming at the YMCA is over now. YMCA has become more family minded.
