Can I ask a favour from current HOM underwear owners, we could do with some more reviews of underwear on our site because we don't make them up (all are from real owners) so if you have either bought from us (or even if you havent but own an item that we stock) then it would be really nice if you could click on an item that you own on our site and write a review of it (remember it's of the product NOT of our site).

We like to have honest reviews so if you liked it or didn't like it then put that in , the only thing we censor is rude language.

I can't offer anything but my thanks for writeing anything because if I did I could be accussed of bribery.

Actually I could do with another favour, I had a report today that one guy is having problems with the site, pages loading slow, images broken etc. I've tested it out on over 10 other pc's all with varying operating systems, isps and connection speeds and can't find a problem at all.
So if any of you guys happen to come over to the site and have a problem can you email me direct at adam@justhom.com and let me know as the more people report if there is a problem then the better chance we have of fixing it.

As most of you are aware may 6th is no pants day and to show our support once again i'll be getting my kit off and wearing no pants (trousers) all day whilst working away under the watchfull eye of the justhom webcam.

No need for donations this time as its not exactly a charity but if anyone wants to stick some money into the next charity box they come across then that would be good.

Ok because I know that I have had a lot of requests to see if we can get any more of the HOM original plumes (1 x white, 1 x black without the XXL) I just want to post here that we CAN'T get anymore as they aren't being manufactured by HOM. The only thing I can suggest to to mass email HOM and petition them to keep producing them in their original colours (HOM are bringing out a plume III in the Autumn which is one black and one red with a different side string that has this pattern on it ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// )

But main reason for this post is that I have just found one more twinpack each of the size 32 and size 34 . They got placed on the wrong shelf in the stockroom so i've put them back into the system.

If you want them it's on a first come first server basis and if they aren't there when you look at the site it's because someone else has already snapped them up. I've already sent a newsletter out to all our customers letting them know so it really is a race to see who can buy them first.

In fact in the time is has taken me to write this, the size 34 has just gone so only the size 32 is now left.

Someone told me the other day that undyworld are getting some original plumes in, apparaently they have been on back order for a very long time and should be in within a couple of weeks.
Yes I know promoting the competition isn't good business sense but as long as people get their plumes then im happy.

on another note, im off on vacation for a week so live help and the webcam won't be available.
Well livehelp might cos being the geeky git that I am, some of my kit is coming on holiday with me and the selling point for the hotel we are staying at in Cyprus has wireless net connection all throughout the hotel and by the pool as well 8-), so all emails will be responded to within 1 hour but all telephone orders will be taken by our glamourous assistant Naomi.

Im taking a big selection of our swimwear stock away with me and will be testing them out in the enviroment they are meant for i.e sun, sand and something else 8-) and will be writeing some reports on them for the site on how quick the fastdry material really, how they cope with sun creams etc.
Might even take a few pics for the VG.

On another note, the justhom poll will be installed on the site when I come back so this will give our customers/visitors an option to have their voice heard when it comes to HOM underwear.

Other news is that we have got a lots more different stock on order as well as a lot more variety in the swimwear department so although we already have the largest amount of ranges of HOM underwear anywhere on the net or street we are still not satisfied and want to offer more.

So I think this might be my last post for a week as im just so looking forward to getting a tan, reading some really good books (i've already worked my way through the da vinci codebook and damn fine read it was) and most importantly of all getting some sleep.

Official newsletter will go out tomorrow (because I havent had time to write it today), but just to let you all know that we took delivery of a load more swimwear - it's up on the site already , in fact we were in such a rush to get it up we havent even written the product descriptions yet !!!!

We have finally got our affiliate program off the ground, so basically what this means is that if other people have websites and want to earn some money from us then they can sign up for the program (free to do) and then they can take feature our banners and products on their own sites and if someone clicks through and makes a purchase then we pay them an 8% comission of what the sale was.
that way both sides win i.e we get more sales and the affiliate gets cash.
We just started it last week and already have 25 people signed up with us , so fingers crossed it will help us increase sales - and increased sales means more underwear to go on the site.

Other exciting news (well it's exciting to me) is that we have outgrown our premises, at the moment all our stock is kept in my office and for those who have viewed our webcam you can see how cramped it is getting, well when the Autumn stock arrives it's going to be impossible to have all the stock in there and still operate - so we will be takeing over some secure warehouse space (getting into big boy territory now) which should be around begining of August.
So although we will still operate the office from it's current location with a certain quantity of stock still in the office the majority will be across town and we will just pull stock when we need it from there.
There might be office space going in the same location as the warehouse soon, so if that becomes available we are first in the queue to totally relocate the whole operation

oh and we are getting about £17,000 worth of HOM original plumes

Ok so as some of you might of heard from my posts here and in other underwear related forums - HOM have already bowed to customer pressure and will be making some more of the HOM original plumes (1 x white, 1 x black) - These will be manufactured around early September so we should get stock in around mid to end of Septemeber, we've got £17,000 worth of them on order so we won't be running out any time soon of them.

We've taken all sizes (32-38) but we've gone lower on amounts of the size 38's than the rest of the sizes as 38's are what we are always left with at the end, so although there is enough of them we havent ordered huge like we have in 34's and 36's (which are always the first to go)

But this does mean that the voteing system became redundant even before I launched it (yesterday), so im going to have to come up with some interesting questions to ask everyone - probable uses will be for how we can improve our site - as although we get plenty of compliments , we rarely get complaints and it's complaints on comments that make us strive to better ourselves.

Just a small addition to the site BUT very usefull as we have more people phoneing us from abroad and we phone our customers as well.

We've added SKYPE as a means of contact to our site.
For those who don't know SKYPE is an excellent (and free) internet telephony tool, all you need to do is download the software and have a mic and speakers (or a headset) and then you can call other SKYPE users for free (or if they havent got skype you can use their subscription for cheap calls).

Ok just want to sound out this idea.
There is no denying the fact that we have been a real success and have grown a lot since justhom.com started in Nov 2004, and we need to grow more (because it's fun and the fact that justhom is my pension) , at the moment i can't see how we can do that because we have limited ourselves to one brand HOM and we are restricted in some ways on what we are allowed to sell from HOM (ever wondered why we havent any fredy's on our site) - so im just sounding out the idea of what if we changed our name and started stocking other brands as well , in my experience thongs seem to be the biggest sellers so we would be looking at other brands that have a good choice of thongs/strings , but i just wanted to get other peoples opinions on my idea.

So if we were to stock other brands, what would your top 3 choices be (please put your top 3 below this post)

Just my opinion - but why change a name that people have come to trust. Why not just start a "sister" store - you could cross promote each store on the other. Could even technically be the same website, just different branding. It's what our plans are eventually also. First the Jockstrap store, then a full on underwear store. Start small and expand.

As for brands - what a difficult decision! Are most of your customers European? or North America?

True the name change would be one of our biggest concerns, not that the name change would be much i.e it would be going from justhom to justhomme
Regarding changing the name it's just because if we stock other brands we would lose permission from the HOM brand to have it in our name, and doing a 301 redirect from justhom to another domain name is easy as pie and wouldn't affect search engine ranking (not that google likes us anyway Grrrrrr)

You are right, nothing to stop us setting up another store BUT in the long run a name change would be the most effecient method, because we have a good trading record under justhom which we would need to prove to other suppliers and the way our ecommerce soloution works trying to marry up the stock systems for the two stores would be a nightmare to do , so in development cost terms again name change would be the most likely

Main base of our customer is about 55% UK & EU , 45% divided up to US, Canada, Far east & Australasia

You've got a great Brand name in Hom, and you ditch it at your peril.
I would suggest you go for something like "Just Hom, Plus". Means you can be ambiguous - you mainly stock Hom, but you also stock a few other items which are comparable in quality and innovation.
In terms of what you stock, I think you need to be careful - tread the right side of the line - metrosexual, rather than gay. So I doubt whether you'd want to stock anything with built in cock-rings, for example.
I've collected underwear for years, and the brands which I've kept hold of, rather than thrown out are:

Olaf Benz/ManStore
N2N
Ergowear

All of these, like a lot of Hom, are contoured - allow your package to stand out, rather than get compressed. The fabrics are also very good.

Popping down to the warehouse today, yes i know its a Sunday but im a workaholic when it comes to justhom actually i find it quite funny when people use the live help system (ask a underwear expert) on the site and they keep seeing its me with their reaction of "god do you never sleep" (benefits of having a secure wireless network in my home, the laptop can come to bed with me - much to the annoyance of my wife).

Sorry im rambling, ok going to the warehouse today as we had a new delivery on Friday so im going to see what was delivered and put some more new stock up on the site, im im correct we should of got the new colour for the HOM samba range (new colour is silver), I think we had some colour violet in as well so that pushes the colour choice of samba up to 10 different colours.

We've had some more swimwear delivered (because we kept in mind that Summer is just starting for our Australian customers) most of it is top ups to some of the swimwear we have already but there are some new ones (to us) in there as well like Akola

Sports strings should be getting topped up as well as we were running low due to their recent popularity.

Anyways lots more should be going up later today if anyone would like to drop by.
