Some of you have been emailing me complaining that you can't post photos after you have registered.

Registration is a two step process and you aren't fully registered until you complete both steps.

1. You fill out the registration form and hit submit and then
2. The system sends you an email immediately. There's a link in that email you have to click to verify yourself.

Once you've done this, your registration is completed and your able to post photos.

Some people are not receiving the registration email for various reasons, or they are just so excited that they're not reading the part in the registration process that explains about the email.

Spam filters can also sometimes mis-identify the registration email as spam and filter it. Not sure why, but some spam filters seem to think an email with a link in it has a high probablity of being spam.

If you have a junk/filtered email box, just do a search in it for an email with the subject line:

"Action Required to Activate Membership for USG forums!"

or you can also search on the following email address:

"john@usg-online.com"

If both of these fail, just email me at john@usg-online.com and I can complete your registration manually.

This sytem may seem a bit silly, but it just prevents people signing up other people as jokes and general misuse of the boards (i.e. spam robots and such)

Kaka,

I just responded to your PM. It was my fault, as I got behind approving new members. I wish I didn't have to, but otherwise, the boards would be full of spam. You're good to go now.

I registered a few days ago and tried to post in different threads with no success... Wondering what's wrong...

Just saw that my messages finally came through. Does this mean that the forum is moderated and that we have to wait for our messages to be approved?

I responded with the answer yesterday to your message in the who's who forum.

New members messages have to be moderated. The site is bombarded with spam posted by automated scripts. As soon as a member as posted their first message and I can get to the site and see that you're a real person, I move you to a new usergroup with unrestricted access. I did that yesterday, so all post (including your last two) go live right away.
