Now feel free to all jump in and correct me if I'm wrong,.......but I believe that "penny bouncing" was actually a test for the quality of "bed-making", (bunk-making), in the army.
Apparently the inspecting officer would toss a penny onto the bed and if the sheets were "drum-tight", as was the required state, the penny would bounce.
I guess when we apply the principle to arses, it therefore has to be a tight arse to bounce a penny. A sloppy, Krispy-Kreme filled one just wouldn't do it at all!
Just call me a mine of absolutely useless information......
