Anyone in LA interested in meeting up for an underwear-get-togther?
L.A. QUESTIONS:
1. Where do you buy your underwear/swimwear?
2. Where do you showoff your underwear/swimwear?
3. If there was an L.A. style (underwear), what do you think it would be?

1. In shops, almost only in shops
2. In summer swimwear on the beach. I have showed off underwear for friends. Once there was a technician here in the morning, me in briefs, he told me he had same briefs on. I simply remained in the same briefs all the time he was here, without dressing. Nothing happened though he looked at me. No none dared to go any farther. I often am stupidly shy.
3. A la John Galliano, the Dior-designer. But more colourful. All in pastel colours. Abstract paintings in heavy colours. I think it would be extremely sexy.
I live at the other side of the eart in Europe.

What would the cut be?
Any cut. The less fabric the better, although me myself I prefer more fabric. It adds to the mystery. For me any man is a mystery and I like that. I like the man mystery. I like the male mystery. I like a man to keep his mystery, his part of mystery. I like that.It has something erotic, although most men are really transparant and hide really nothing. That is nice as well. They are simply plainly as they are. Nothing to hide. Magnificent.

Well, I'm from the L.A. area (Pasadena) so here are my answers:
1. I buy underwear and swimwear at department stores (Macy's, JWR, JCP, etc.) and online, as I enjoy having a small but diverse collection from around the world.
2. I'll show off swimwear at the beach in season, and at various resorts in Palm Springs. Underwear and swimwear always attract a lot of attention at the Palm Springs resorts because I usually go with a gay mens' nudist group, and the guys ALWAYS become curious seeing anyone wearing clothes at the clothing-optional resorts we frequent!
3. A distinctive style of L.A. underwear? Well, I'm reminded of Gertrude Stein's observation about L.A.: "There is no there, there," she is reported to have said. Hmmm. . . . perhaps she was referring to my prior advocacy for a no-underwear section on this board. . . . :) But even more apt is my favorite description of L.A.: "A thousand suburbs in search of a city." So L.A. underwear is very diverse, like the city itself, and every manner and style proliferate and flourish. And as goes the cliche, well, we're within easy driving distance of mountains, desert, and the sea. So I'm going to suggest earth tones: forest green, ocean blue, desert scrub brown, and any color found in L.A. and environs. NOT to overlook white, as that is far and away the best briefs color! Though variety is the spice, as they say. . . .
The cut? Well, box cut for the boxer hounds, of course. And I'll note for the record that last summer, the new uniform among the West Hollywood club crowd was boxer briefs. Period. No shirts, no trousers. It was quite common to see guys wandering up and down Santa Monica Blvd thus attired. I personally would recommend something skimpier, though. Briefs (bikini briefs as well as white briefs) work well, but let's not overlook jock straps, though!
And that's the memo!

Just like a Southern Californian to be taking credit that belongs up North.
"There is no there there. (Statement referring to Stein's onetime home of Oakland, California.)"

Ouch! And to think I've just spent the last month in Walnut Creek (near Oakland!). . . :o
But come to think of it, Stein nailed it. Couldn't ask for a more perfect description of Oakland!
Next time, though, I'll fact-check my geographical references first. . . :bath
