If you're talking about having a wank, use whatever feels comfortable and doesn't sting.

If you're talking about fucking with a condom, don't take chances with anything which could rot the rubber. In the absence of any proper lube, you would probably be safer fucking with just the condom, although there is an increased stress on it and it may tear more easily. You could try fingering his arse first and see whether that produces any natural "lube" which might help.

Still, while you've been waiting for a reply here, you've probably been out and bought some lube.

from what I understand, water based lubes are the best from the health standpoint as I hear that oil based can trap bacteria and cause problems. I, myself, have used Vasaline, conditioner and some other things with good success. I say that nothing beats products like 'Golden Girl Anal Jelly' and the like.

Tried most of everything that is out there on the market... and the top 2 lubes I have found for cost $$ and use are over the counter KY, or Astroglide which may or maynot be at a local pharmacy. KY and A-glide are both water soluble, won't compromise latex or other condom material. Won't stain clothing, upholstery, carpets... and I will quickly share what I discovered quite by accident one pleasant afternoon.

Having a whank in my recliner watching dvd's. Remote and iced bourbon/coke on one side, KY and toys on the other. Was all slicked up and enjoyin the view when things started drying out a bit. Thought I would need more KY, but as I took a sip of bourbon, a water drop fell off the glass onto "slick Willy", and whoa... all nice and slick again... so now I have a little mister bottle of warm/hot water at my side when KY'd and jerking. If things start to dry out a bit, one quick spritz with a warm mist and it's back to the beginning, like a fresh slathering of jelly. Now a tube of KY will last me weeks instead of hours. (hahahaha, you think I'm kidding...)
