I am always up for this kind of randy chat, but one guy can't say to another "This is what you should get". Everyone has their own preference on what they like to wear and what they like to see on another.
I prefer Y-back thongs to G-strings, and I prefer both to jockstraps, which I never liked all that much. It takes a little time to get used to the feel of the material touching your crack, but now I find it a turnon.

I agree--buy what "fits" you best and what you would like to wear. I usually buy my uw whan stores have sales. Then, I stock up. As a result, I have some I haven't worn yet. When I open a new package, I always get "hard" putting on the new stuff, and then throw away an equal amount of old underwear. Oh, I nearly forgot, I break in new underwear in the shower.
