Colour of my name

Just out of curiosity, can one of the site managers explain why, on the message boards, most of the member names appear in blue, but some (such as mine) are red, and at least one (Onan) is yellow? Is there a way I can select my own colour?
This is the sort of thing that people in I.T. obsess about :)

First, there are no managers, just me. I'm all alone. These sites are a hobby for me and nothing else. ;) There are a few moderators that help out in the user galleries.

The color coding makes more sense if you don't customize your title underneath you nickname. Basically, red is for USG Regular and Yellow is for Super User. You go from just "Registered" to "USG Regular" when you hit 100 posts. And to "Super User" when you hit 500 posts.
