Which is more important to you in your appreciation of undergarments, visual (=look) or tactile (=feel)?

To me this is a good question as I'm not sure of my own answers yet!

Other options (fragrance? salty/sweet?) will need to be given in writing!

Well, I can't answer my own question yet, but already I'm coming up with some new ideas:-

another important factor seems to be association - i.e. are there particular historical/biographical events which shape your predilictions?
Childhood? Locker rooms? First crush? Magazines, media and catalogues?

Possibly this broadens the field so much as to make the question useless, but the basic idea is:

What determines your underwear choices?

I like to look sexy.
I like to feel sexy.

Or something more complex?

Thought about this overnight and have decided to come down on the tactile side of the line - even when I'm ordering online I'm imagining how good they're going to feel. I love the bootlegger briefs from Undergear because you can see how comfortable they are.

Comfort and feeling good are very important to me.

I have some underwear that looks o.k. but is annoying to wear, such as the mini-briefs (attached), which I save for days when I quite fancy having to constantly adjust myself to try and get comfortable. I really don't like the look of my stretchy red shorts, but they feel so good that I can't put them on without starting to pre-cum!

Fabric is also important - I always read the labels and prefer 100% cotton. Some of the man-mades (which possibly have more visual appeal) give me friction burns :eek:

However, if there wasn't some visual element I probably wouldn't be on this site (although I would love to touch most of the things I see here). And I'm a color junkie! So I've gone for more tactile some visual. Phew!

For me it's all about the visual... which is why I despise boxers. I love that "well defined" profile that is provided in a nice form fitting pair of underwear. I prefer the bikini or brief, but a nice boxer brief will accomplish the same thing.

Next (for me personally) is feel. I love a nice microfiber, nylon, or rayon garment. A cotton poly blend is nice too. I'm not fond of straight cotton however.

All this said, if the wearer is truly exquisite (sans boxers) then all bets are off while I try to figure out how to get the garment (and the wearer) off. ;) ;)

My appreciation of underwear for what I wear is wholly tactile; comfort is everything. In most cases I like 100% cotton for everyday wear, whether it's briefs, thongs, or boxers. I love the way my silk g-string caresses my dick and balls.
