Up to what age were your undies bought for you???

Well in my case there was not much choice as most briefs were white anyway, so I let my mother do it... it just seemed so embarrassing to go and buy underwear!!

But I finally broke out and bought some coloured bikinis myself when I was about 20.... and she said "WHAT???? are these...." but it was too late I was hooked ;)

Up until about the age of 12 I had no choice but to wear white Y-fronts which my mother always bought for me and I recall I really hated these at the time. It's funny that now given the choice they are my favourite preference and I can't get enough of them! :blowme

"FORCED INTO Y-FRONTS"???
Now THAT seems just like a huge reward to me!

I'm using the words "Y-fronts" here in the generic sense, as it seems that all fly-styles come under this term, even though some are really A-fronts, H-fronts, and whatever that fly-style that's found on Stafford, FTL, Hanes etc is called. For want of a better term I use "American-fly", ...and I'm sure you guys over there will forgive me, ...even if you didn't invent 'em!

I always loved white Y-fronts, even from childhood ...and hated the fashion that changed to tiny little bright coloured fly-less "briefs" that seemed SO cheap and basic in construction.
To me, they didn't even have the incredible masculine frisson of the white Y-fronts I so loved to see other boys/men wearing. Even as a teenager when peer group pressure and fear of ridiclue was probably at it's most virulent, I STILL wore my Y-fronts, because nothing else gave me an instant erection, and conjured up such masculine fantasies in those VERY frequent "alone" moments teenage boys seem prone to. Even in those testosterone fuelled days, I very rarely wanked without wearing one of the various styles of Y-fronts, and usually to a crumpled picture of a guy from a mail-order catalogue wearing the same.
Sadly, the WWW had not yet been devised, or I probably would have wanked myself to an early death!
Now I rarely wear anything else, and sometimes people question that, but for every one that doesn't like my choice, there's heaps more who seem to feel the very same way I do about Y-fronts, and their intriguing openings and masculine appeal.
People have become aware of my love of white Y-fronts and I get lots of them as presents, ......mainly fashionable expensive "name" brands which people are "sure I will like",........and that's certainly nice that they spend their money on me, but I have to say that the ones that are the biggest turn-on for me are the names that have been around for ages, and stick to the traditional styles.
BOND'S, JOCKEY, HANES, STAFFORD, OLD NAVY, and all those generic brands of Y-fronts you tend to find in the cheaper chain stores! Go figure?
They don't call 'em "CLASSICS" for nothing!

Right on! Bondsman! Y-fronts are my choice also. Especially when wearing them as a swimsuit in hotel pools or the shower or my small pool or in the yard outside my house at 2 am and watering the flowers and myself. Such excellent support or, if my equipment is standing up, clear revealment. Other brands are OK, but not the same as see through Jockey white y-fronts like this. :bath :bath :bath

My Mum used to buy Y-front style underwear for up until my early/mid teens. Then I bought my first sexy briefs (Jockey Skants) and my underwear obsession had started.

From the age of 13 (or so) I started buying my own underwear. Inspired by pics in postordercatalogues I found out there was much more to enjoy than the HEMA stuff. My underwear became smaller every year and since I was about 26 I started wearing thongs and all kind of other small stuff.

First I started wearing thongs my partner was not very in to it, but soon she enjoyed them and is wearing only strings/thongs for several years.

I buy my underwear in Amsterdam, or from on line shops. Sometimes even C&A have nice thongs.

I seem to remember being allowed some input into what styles and colours of shirts, pants etc I wanted, but my mother still bought my underwear up until about the age of 16, which was when I started to get a little bit of income and began buying some of my own gear.

I don't think this was out of any desire on her part to force my choice. The fact is, there was bugger all to choose from. Most of the available underwear was like the model T Ford. You could white fly front, or you could have white fly front. When Jockey first put out their line of Jockettes, she got me a couple of pairs. She must have noticed that I seemed to be giving them undue preference! They were pretty ordinary by today's standards, but at the time they were the first underpants I had seen in that style... bikini brief, with minimal side strap width. And in COLOURS!!! I freaked out.

I think this is why I am not a fan of white. The are some nice well cut white undies around now, but in my mind white is always associated with the daggy stuff that I had to wear back then before underwear became a fashion item.
