Does anyone remember the 80s TV show "Riptide"? It's finally coming out on DVD. It will be out in Canada in late August, then in the US in September. I remember this show from when I was a kid. There's a very long scene in the pilot with the two 80s-studs leads, Joe Penny and Perry King, in white briefs. They used a clip of it in the titles from then on, but I watched every week hoping for more, but was always disappointed. Anyway, I cannot wait for that pilot to come out. I can't wait to see it again to find out how closely what I remember is to the show.

For those who don't know the show, it was a bad little private investigator series in the US. These yahoos lived together on a boat. In the pilot, there's some intruder or something at night, and they both run out in their underwear. Then they chase the guy, they get into something like a Jeep and drive around after the guy. Then after the chase the stand around for a minute or two more outside somewhere before one of them makes some comment about how they better get back home because they look like underwear models in catalog.

I had very hot dreams about this show even before it was on after seeing the promos for it, which included a bit of the underwear scene.

So I've been watching for the DVD release of this show since TV shows started coming out on DVD. Look for it if you want to see the two guys (not the geek on the right) in the attached picture in tight white briefs.

PS--sorry to be so North America-centric. I looked around the web to see if the Riptide DVD will be coming out in a few other countries, but found nothing. I will get this one. Not that I want to watch a whole season of crappy 80s TV, but that underwear scene in the pilot episode is seared into my memory from when I was a horny, kind of confused, teenager.

When I get it, I'll see if I can figure out how to capture a clip. If I can, I'll post something here. If someone in Canada wants to beat me to it, I won't complain!!
