Hello,

Thanks for starting this great website and forum. I'm a newbie here and thought i could get some advice and help from wise underwear gurus out there. :)

I'm sorta training (swim and run) and am looking for the right kind of underwear. atm, i'm wearing my usual brief and hipster trunks when i go for my run, however, it kinda gets really sweaty and i dont quite enjoy the feeling of running (or more like limping home with my lousy stamina atm) home with wet underwear. Is there anything out there more suitable? I've tried wearing jockstraps, dont mind it when i am climbing (less fabric for the harness to cut out blood supply to the vital area) but my running shorts are kinda short and i dont want to scare the kids away.

second dilemma : i'm looking for a new pair of speedo. i've got a normal dark blue nike, its great, but my package kinda looks a little flat in it. Any recommendations? nothing too fancy or too in-your-face kinda speedo as probably will race in it, maybe just a tad sexy . Need something that suits me : tall, slim (some say skinny) kinda-tan asian, so nothing too bright- too much contrast.

.......oh, errr and something not too pricey?? still a uni student here :p

thanks very much in advance for your help

ps: any advice frm runners/swimmers/triathletes on training would be great as well.

It's all a matter of your preference, but I know what I would suggest:
1) For running, nothing beats a thong under short running shorts. You don't see any strap, you just get a nice enticing view of arse. And if that scares the kids away, they better get used to it because I see guys all the time in running shorts showing a good bit of arse cheek.

It has to be a nice firm stretchy thong though - the idea is to support your nuts without squashing them.
2) Yellow is not my favourite colour for speedos (that is when I am wearing them), but if you are dark skinned they could well suit you.A plain bright red is sexy also. Black might be a bit too demure if you are dark skinned.
As for getting the fit, it's trial and error. The cut varies a good deal even in garments from the same manufacturer. Best if you can find something that doesn't have a drawstring, or if it has one, it's best if they fit nice and tight without having to pull the string in. That just creates a kind of bunched effect, not very sexy in my opinion.

Thanks sweat aussie :)

going to run out to get a new pair later and i'll see if i can find any. I def perfer something without drawstrings (as i usually have trouble untying them anyway). My partner has already ordered a new pair or swimmers online for me, don't know what he's getting though (although i've got a feeling he'll probably buy someting abit too revealing to race in).

On the contrary. A nice revealing outfit would probably give you the incentive to race fast... in the manner of a streaker who puts on speed to make sure he doesn't get caught!
