Hey Guys,
Alot of underwear now is low-rise...just wondering if any of you shave your pubes so you don't have a bush coming out of your undies!! If you do shave, what do you use? Does it stay smooth?

I like to be clean shaven and enjoy the process. THere are several methods.
One person said using powder and dry shave, it sounds rough, but does work.
I have used a powder that you mix into a paste and after a while you shower it all off. This way you are VERY smooth and feels great. Magic Shaving Powder is the name.
Besides if you don't like clean shave it will always grow back.

I think you will find this is a much discussed topic in past threads on the board! Guys seem to fall into 2 camps, those who prefer the shaven look and those who don't, and they can be very vocal in support of their own point of view. With some guys this borders on intolerance.
My own shaving experience:
Yes I sometimes shave the hairs around and above the root of the dick, because I don't like the look of a bush showing above speedos. I don't bother trimming in winter, only when I think it's likely to be seen in public.
I shave with a razor the same as I use on my face. If you have not done it before, or it's been a long time since you have, you would probably want to cut most of the hair away with scissors first.
And no, it does not stay smooth, it grows back same as the hairs on your face.

just saw the post so a late response- used to shave, now I get waxed and just trim the top- waxing lasts longer than shaving but it takes a few times to get used to it 'cause it hurts - but you'll great in just about anything!

If you take a look at most of the fashion shots from all the big houses that seem to matter, you''l find most men featuring what looks to me like full bush ABOVE their mini-trunks.
They seem to have moved on from the over depilated nineties look, (and not a minute too soon in my own "intolerant" view :D ), with pubic hair AND chest hair now freely featured on models where previously all trace of it would have been totally erased.
Perhaps you may prefer to keep up with fashion, if that is your want, rather than repeat something that has already become somewhat redundant. Notice no-one dyes their hair dead white anymore?
Just a suggestion.
And if the tree is THAT small that you think mowing the grass beneath it will somehow fool the observer and visually make it LOOK bigger, I can only say take up bonsai! :D No one's gonna fall for THAT! ;)

I don't mind shaved guys, but prefer to see a little hair trailing up from a nice pair of briefs. As for myself, I usually trim my hair, but don't get rid of it completely.

I have been shaving almost since i started getting hair down there :-p, i personally really like the clean look and the smooth feel, it takes alot of work to maintain and not get ingrown hairs and the like though. Feels more comfortable all around to me, even when im wearing low-rise, tight briefs

You don't think it's possible that there are some of us who simply shave, or not shave as the case may be, because they like the look of themselves that way, rather than because of whatever happens to be fashion flavour of the month?

Perhaps so, ...but I think you'll agree these things do seem to go in cycles, depending on what's deemed in or out.
It starts with the top-level fashionistas on the run-ways, and because it's seen in the mass advertising, it gradually filters down to the gays, and last of all the str8s, who seem to be doing everything they actually criticised the gays for doing/wearing about five years earlier. Although, I must admit, they have been narrowing the gap of late. Bloody metro-sexuals!!! :D
There was the incredible wave of total depilation in the nineties driven by those Calvin Klein ads, that even penetrated gay porn videos, with the models resembling new-born mice, ....so complete was the need to erase every last trace of body hair, (and wear the required CK undies for a brief nanosecond!). Did CK sponsor all that porn?
It was, ....and in many cases still is almost impossible to find a porn model with proper hairy balls, let alone anything resembling chest hair. It has, thankfully, relaxed somewhat lately, ....as has the fashion trend. SO glad to be able to buy and enjoy porn again! ;)
I suspect, ...and I'm perfectly willing to be proved wrong here, ...that the fashion for male depilation is driven by largely by WOMEN.
They spend so much time at parlours having waxing, laser-depilation, etc. and for them, the permanent brazillian seems to be the most desirable acquisition. Now they want to apply their adopted beauty standards to men. This includes not only conforming to their own hairlessness, but also to wearing similar underwear, and using similar beauty regimes as they themselves have adopted. Try finding a women who doesn't sound off against men having hairy chests! Just read their opinions in the mags.
Look, if your own bodily hair pattern has you resembling "Gorillas in the Mist" when at the local sauna, AND you feel as though you fit in better when removing it, go right ahead. Just remember you will have to keep on doing it, it's VERY time consuming to maintain, often expensive, and it doesn't feel that good to touch if it's prickly.
Also, and this is not to be ignored, you just may be missing out on finding someone who really gets off on what you are trying so hard to eliminate....i.e. someone who wants you for yourself.
It's always easier to swim with the flow, than fight the current! ;)
I am not at all interested in fashion. I just shave because I like the look and the smooth feeling of it...

Perhaps this image started to turn the trend against shaving?
It certainly shows that a body with hair can be VERY attractive :blowme

I shave because I like the look and feel of it when it is shaved. I like the look on other guys too. My shaving has led to some interesting conversations at the gym when I am nude there or in the shower.

I've written in favour of shaving more times than I can remember. Shaving because it's the fashion seems to be the worst possible reason for doing it - when there are so many good ones - principal among which must be that it FEELS GOOD!
I've changed my mind, and have not shaved for more than a year. 'Silly old fool' I hear the hairy mob cry - 'It's taken a long time for him to come to his senses'.
Well it has, but not in your direction.
Last year while on holiday I was persuaded to have a wax treatment. Yes, it hurt. It hurt a lot. But the result was smoother than ever before. Yes, it needs doing at regular intervals, and Yes, it still hurts. But not as much, and not as often. The re-growth is slower and downier than it was 6 months ago, and most of the time my pubis feels really smooth - unlike the shaving days, when that stubbly feeling started after 48 hours.
It seems to me that there is one big plus for waxing - it makes regowth weaker and slower, whereas I'm sure that shaving does the opposite.
The guiding principle: 'If you've got it, flaunt it'.
Yeah, I shave sometimes and get an incredible hardon when I do.

I like to wax but I never go completely Bald I leave a small patch which I tend to keep trimmed short I keep my balls shaved I just love the feeling and in the summer I even wax my chest to stay cooler even though my b/f loves my hairy chest and its just much more pleasing to look at I'm not fond of a big ol bush sticking out of my low rise undies or speedos

My but we have beat this subject to death. While I prefer the shaved, or trimmed look and find a hairy man somewhat of a turnoff, I never-the-less realize that while hair to me may not be attractive, it may be an incredible turn-on to someone else. I have no right to dictate fashion, looks, or morality on anyone else, nor does anyone have any right to do the same to me. If you want to shave fine, if not fine. Either preference does not make one better or worse than another. Enjoy life the way you want! ;)

First time poster.. just couldn't resist on this topic. First, if it makes any difference, I'm straight, I think <grin>, but have to admit to being somewhat curious if the situation ever rises (poor choice of words....) Love underwear (my reason for being here ?). Pulled out my pubes with tweezers on a bet with my wife years ago. I wanted her to "trim" and her response was "I will if you will". Well, I'm not one to shy away from a dare. I knew I didn't want to shave.. couldn't even imaging dealing with the stubble regrowth... so out came the tweezers. Pulled them suckers out one by one. Tremendous turn on. Have been plucking them out ever since, and kept enlarging the area to now be very smooth Regrowth is now minimal and maintenance is easy. I love the look and the feel. Can't even imagine letting them grow back!

I'm not sure that 20 messages in two months qualifies as 'beating a subject to death.'
While it's certainly true that these things are a matter of personal preference, the thread was started by someone who wanted to know what our opinions were.
We were asked, and we answered. Me, I think that hair on men is not only natural, but incredibly sexy. I think any shaving below the neck is revolting. Despite what many people claim, this sort of thing does indeed follow the whims of fashion, as do many things. I'll continue to do what I want to do, and look at men I want to look at. That's the way I want to enjoy life.

If you look back through the postings over the last 2 years I believe you'll find many postings on this same subject.
I respect your opinions, and re-iterate, to each his own!

Im new here and just read all the post on shaving here. Well, I never shaved until just the other day. And, for some reason just desided to shave my ball sac. And that in itself was a tricky project o take on, but after I was done... WOW!!! :D That feels GREAT!!! :D I wish I had done that years ago!!! That makes my balls feel bigger for some reason and sure is a lot more fun jackin off. Don't get me wrong here, I love straight sex and having my balls shaved for some reason makes me feel a whole lot more sensitive!

Just wait till you have your smooth balls sucked on. It's unbelievable. Of course if you already have, then you know what I'm talking about :D

Oh AzTanDan, I am SO with you on this one! Even I grow weary of this thread, ...which guys, in all honesty, need I remind you, has absolutely NOTHING to do with underwear at all! Sorry!
If you want to shave fine, if not fine. Either preference does not make one better or worse than another. Enjoy life the way you want! ;)
Said so succinctly AZTanDan!
Just as you are in the for-camp, I am obviously in the against, but as you say, either PREFERENCE does not make the other one wrong, or make your way better, or even correct.
If you have just shaven/waxed/depilated/tweezered/denuded/lasered or otherwise nuked your poor balls all the way back to pre-pre-pre-pubescent absolute ground zero, and you just LOVE how it feels, I am very happy for you, delighted in fact....BUT you haven't discovered a cure for cancer, or revealed the secret meaning of life, or even done anything particularly unique, novel or even new.
Enjoy it by all means, do it all the time, keep it that way forever, get someone to lick it till their tongue wears away..... but can we PLEASE get back to the underwear!!!.
Guess what? I shave my FACE nearly every day! It feels smooth, and sexy, and I like the look so much better. Do I feel the urgent need to post about it every time I do it? Strangely enough, .....no! :D
You can, of course, reveal your new-found fetish for having a nutsack as smooth as a ladies vinyl purse when posting pics of your new thong, koala, pouch-wear or G-string, ...which would be far more exciting, ...and in keeping with the board's objectives.
I realise these thoughts probably won't win me any friends here AT ALL, and you'll all think I should just shut up, but like AzTanDan, I think we are "covering" and re-going over very old ground, time and time again, just as each new person takes a razor to their balls, ...and discovers "liberation".
OK, rant  over from me, ......gentlemen, .....start your razors! :D :D :D
My throat awaits.......
