Hmmmm, that's a hard one, (as the actress said to the bishop), ....but I'm thinking only if you're a member of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers who wore just such an outfit on stage when their luggage had all been lost by the airline. Of course they had to use a rubber band to ensure their outfits remained in place during their concert,

Socks seem to be always linked to underwear, .......as in "socks-&-jocks", ...the perennial Xmas present here in Oz. They are usually sold at the same counter in stores too, ..or very nearby.
They are certainly worn under shoes, .....and I'm betting all of you keep your socks VERY near your underwear drawer too.
I do like white sports socks as an adjunct to white briefs, ...certainly adds to the look in my opinion, .....and woolly work socks pushed down look good too. I do however, hate, loathe and detest those dinky little short socky-wocky things that started off as women's tennis socks!
You know the little cut-off things, .....they always manage to look so girly, ......and they can ruin an otherwise perfectly good underwear sighting for me!

I agree. I maybe don't loathe them quite so passionately as you do, but I do think why take a design - the standard sock - that has stood the test of time, and change it?

Even moderate physical activity always gets my socks attempting to bunch down into the shoe. The extra length on the ankle of a bog-standard sock acts as a brake on this - and you can always roll them down if you want a bit more ankle ventilation in hot weather.

I have several pairs of the short-length socks. One pair was a freebie from a shop where I bought some jeans. They are dark and not ultra-short, so when teamed with jeans they don't look too bad. The other two (white) were bought at the sports store at Uni (those being the only kind they had in the shop) , on two occasions when I found I had forgotten to pack socks for a workout. They barely extend to the back of the heel. Ridiculous.

If cotton is so expensive that they need to save on sock material, why is so much superfluous material wasted on so-called "shorts" that come down nearly to guys' knees? I just doesn't add up.

Actually, I don't really have a preference on the sock thing, but due to my Arthritis, getting the short style on is a LOT easier.

Besides, I regret to say that if I wanted to cover my cock with a sock, even the short ones have plenty of room... :(

On the up side, you would really like my bush right now...I've been lazy ;)
