Photo mixup

Hi,
I am experiencing a curious phenomenon. I posted a new photo this morning and it showed up in my gallery with a link to photo 30308.
To my surprise, after a while I noticed that another photo, posted a few month back (number 25709) showed the same picture, although it was different before.
I edited the old photo (25709) and tried to reload it. It showed in both places !
I then tried again editing the new photo (30308) this time and relaoded the new file there and again it showed in both places !!

It is true that in the beginning they had the same file name on my computer (in different directories).

Is the only solution to delete one of them and reload it ? I'd hate to loose the comments!

That is strange and I haven't come across that before. I know the software that runs the galleries isn't without flaws, but mostly I've just seen it drop thumbnails.

The only thing I can think of right now is to try renaming the photo on your computer and seeing if that works - having the same name may have confused the software (though I have my doubts)

I will also run the database maintenance tools that come with the software. It's been a while, and I know of a few corrupted thumbnails.

Starting this week, I'm going to be spending a lot more time on USG. Upgrading the gallery software is going to be a priority. I've attempted it once before, but the whole thing blew up and I had to revert back.

There's also going to be a fine-tuning of the gallery categories to make the moderators job a bit easier as well.

Did the reload with different file names to no avail. Finally deleted completely the new photo and reloaded it with a new name. This seems to work.
