I regularly use the gym at Uni, and as far as I have noticed I am the only person using the changeroom who wears thongs as underwear. I don't believe I have seen any jockstraps either, normally guys seem to wear the cotton briefs that are standard here, the proper term is probably bikini briefs.

Today however I got a very tantalising glimpse of a pair of green undies. The guy was changing quickly (lots of them seem in a terrible hurry), so I didn't get much of a look, but they looked as though they might have been Kiniki tanga style briefs. The colour was a very attractive shade of green - I would probably call it eucalyptus green - and the material looked to have a ribbed texture. Apart from the colour, and the fact that they were a tanga not a thong, they looked a lot like my recently acquired Kiniki thong, which is purple but has a similar ribbed texture. (Pics forthcoming.) Anyone know the Kiniki style I am talking about?

I would have loved to ask the guy what they were, but I doubt if I would have the balls to do it without striking up a conversation some other way first. Next time maybe...

Suggestion:

If you do strike up the nerve to ask him, wait until he has his clothes on. It will make the situation more neutral all the around. Asking him when he is standing there in his underwear puts him in a curious situation as to why are you asking. If he is dressed, he has the "protection" of his clothes and might feel more comfortable when a question about his underwear is asked.

Oooh, .....I'm not so sure Dayne. IF he's str8, he's going to want to know why the hell you were looking "THERE" at all. There's kind of an unwritten law amongst str8s in changerooms, ...a bit like the one at the urinal.
You know, ....eyes straight ahead, go about YOUR business quickly and NO sideways glancing AT ALL.
IF, ...(and it's a big "if"), I was going to ask at all, it would be if I saw his briefs on the bench, and not on his body at all.

I was thinking more along the lines of mentioning they were an interesting color, where'd you buy them, and leaving it at that. Part of waiting until the guy was dressed is based on what you are talking about.

i'b be more inclined to side with mr bondsman on this.............you're more liable to get a fat lip or reported for asking

but if the guy was slower...........and deliberately taking his time..........then i would make a comment right there and then............"wow' those are different, where did you get those?" and see what the response would be

hang in there sweaty aussie.............but probably best not to hang around there lol

Some interesting responses here...

The fact is, I am unlikely to see the same guy wearing the same underpants again, and if I did, he would probably be changing in a hurry again so I wouldn't attempt to strike up a conversation.

If I did, however, I would think that commenting on his briefs when they were not actually in sight would make it even more obvious that my mind was dwelling on them, wouldn't it?

The idea about mentioning them while they were lying on the bench is a good one but the opportunity is unlikely to arise.

In any case, I would make sure that if I said anything, that I wasn't stripped to my thong at the time, as that might definitely give the impression that I was on the make... which may be true but one can't make it too bleeding obvious. :D
