Another poster brought this up in another thread and I just wanted to know what you guys think of this trend.

It seems like an awful lot of guys are shaving - and I don't mean their faces. Chest, Pubes, Backs, everything.

What's your opinion on this? Is it a turn on? A turn off? Do you do it yourself? Let us know.

Well, as usual, lots of lurkers, a few people voting, but nobody commenting. Guess this will change as we get more and more participating members.

I personally love the look of a hairy guy, and prefer non shaven. I do find it a bit odd if a really hairy guy is wearing some skimpy g-string or pouch and the pubes are showing, so I guess I don't mind trimming a bit, but in most cases I do prefer a guy to be natural.

I'm fairly hairy myself and I do regulary trim down my chest hair. I don't shave it off, just make it shorter and neater.

I think variety is nice. I'm not particularly into completely shaved pubes, but shaved balls are great to suck. I like hairless chests if that's how they are naturally, but prefer some hair.

Firstly I am little disappointed that most replies are just focusing on the pubic area.

Secondly, there is more to the body than the chest and the pubic area. What about legs and back? These are areas that a lot of guys shave.

Now to my own preferences:
My first preference is for a guy to be naturally smooth. I am lucky enough to be in this category - while I have a certain amount of fuzz on my chest and legs it is not enough to make me go YUK. I am not talking here about the pubic area, I have plenty of hair there like most guys. I did once shave this area completely, when I was in Brazil in a hot humid climate. It probably helped with air circulation, but I did not particularly like the look, and now I mostly leave the hair alone, maybe I will trim it a little for summer so I don't get tufts poking out over speedos.
If a guy is naturally hairy, I would not kick him out of bed for that reason, it is just one part of the total package to consider. Certainly if I was very hairy I would either shave it or consider something like laser hair removal. that is something each man needs to decide for himself. I don't normally do the body shave, but sometimes it feels good in the heat of summer, and it certainly adds to muscle definition. (I had shaved not long before taking my signature pic.)

I thought about it seriously, but the cost is kinda prohibitive. That and you can't have any sun (natural or artificial) for six week prior, or during the treatments. They say for a hairy back it will take upwards of 4 visits (2 weeks apart) at a cost of $120 per visit. That's here in Arizona, might be cheaper elsewhere. Honestly, for me it's the sun. I haven't been "white" in over 5 years. The Dr told me that I might have to wait as long as 10 weeks before starting. To much to give up... I'll just keep shaving everday.

Even among my unshaved friends who see nothing strange about being smooth but like to proclaim their hairiness, I find that many have quite an interest in the state of my pubis and are always keen to feel just how smooth it is today... With me, what you see is what I've got, but with some of them it can be hard to tell! I have to say that I prefer to spend an evening with a smoothie, if only because I don't like hair in my face.

Tell us more about Nair. The sting from waxing would not worry me, but I would like to know how often the treatment is necessary. If the hair comes back fairly soon, I would not bother, I would just continue doing what I do now, which is shave my torso in summer and not bother in winter.

I totally agree with the shaving routine. Its just normal for me to do it also in the shower. Sorta like coming home and taking out the trash, or doing laundry. Its a routine and something your set in ways of doing.

For me, Shavings limited to just down south. I am naturally a non-hairy guy. I shave my face once a month basically. I have issues trying to grow facial hair. I can grow a moustache, but forget a beard, I wind up looking like Young Frankenstein or the wolfman during transition with just patches on my cheeks, a wimpy goatee and scrapy sideburns. As for me and my forearms, No, I have very light, nearly blond hair on my forearms.. In the winter, it does darken enough that its slightly visable, However for the most part, its not noticable. My legs are more hairy and definately darker, So those do show as do the underarms, Those parts I do shave But not always on a regular basis. Tho the legs I do tend to do more often.

I got a laser epilation of my stomach, balls and the sides of the bikini a few years ago. Just kept a reasonable pubic bush. The nice thing about the laser process is that it gets to the root of the hairs so it is (almost) permanent, and the skin is incredebly smooth because there is no regrowing hairs underneeth. The bad thing is that you have to take between 5 and 7 sessions over a year to get to all the hairs, and it is somewhat costly and a little painful (nothing unbearable though).
I do get rid of the remaining bush (epilation by hand) just before summer so that I can wear any daring suit I wish throughout the beach season. I usually have to pluck a couple of hairs regrowing every now and then but it stays pretty much bare during a couple of months.

One person told me to take a warm bath, and soak awhile, to soften the hair or use a hot washcloth, over the area to be shaved, and then use a cold razor, rinsed in cold water, it seems the hot water rise has an effect on the razor, Who knew, and afterwards use a cream or lotion to sooth the area.

What's a trimmer? Is that a small pair of scissors? If so, I can well understand the difficulty of trying to move in the right direction using the reflection as a guide. I think manouevring a safety razor would be a lot easier.

I am not goiing to say you should shave or you should not shave - we have done that argument to death - but if you are keen I would suggest:

- Use a razor.

- Don't worry about getting it all off at once. You will just get frustrated and impatient, and then you'll start getting careless.

- For the first couple of times,just run the razor over yourself very lightly without trying to get a close shave.

- Expect to go through a number of razor blades.

Sorry, But I wont be one to let the subject die at the unshawn hands. Try as you might, but since this threads about as far out of your reading path. I think even those hair lovers could overlook just a little banter from those of us that also enjoy having our willey.. well.. free.

I believe you miss the point here. Yes Bondsman likes the hairy bod. I bodyshave (cept the bits) and have since my swimteam days in high school. We agree to disagree.

That said, the one thing that Bondsman, myself, and I dare say quite a few others who have been on this site for quite sometime agree upon is that this subject has been discussed, rediscussed, reviewed, rehashed, and regurgitated to the point of being ridiculous.

The ranting isn't about shaving or not shaving, the ranting is about the continuous need to discuss a habit or preference that is personal, and quite frankly doesn't have anything to do with underwear, swimwear, or activewear. I agree that everyone has their preference, their likes and dislikes, and they are entitled to their opinion.

The point is that we're tired of the rehash. Can we please move on to discuss underwear, hot-assed men in swimwear, why white makes some individuals go bonkers at the thought (right Bondsman).

I know this topic has probably been done and everyone is sick of answer it but I hope a few of you will oblige me.

I think most body hair is gross. For that matter most hair is gross to me. I don't mind my arm hair or leg hair (outside my underwear region). I keep a small 2" strip of hair from the base ofif penis to my belly button. I keep that hair 1/8" long (use a bodygroom to maintain). I also shave my testicles and hair on my legs around my crotch area (approximately 4-6" away from my crotch).

I have recently started to shave my head hair (1/8" of an inch - see a patter with length of hair I keep). I love it since it is easy to maintain. I shave my face for work since it is required. I would grow a small beard if I could.

Now to my question... I want to get rid of the last region of body hair I have mentioned... my butt hair. I would like completely gone! This isn't for sexual reasons but instead because I think hair is gross, especially there. I don't want to shave or wax it. I would love to be able to do it at home. I hear Nair and Veet are not safe in that "region". Any suggestions would be helpful.

Seriously, may I most respectfully and politely suggest to you that as this is NOT a site designated to shaving, waxing, or any other forms of depilation that perhaps you are looking in the wrong place?
You will note here onsite in the Albums and in the old galleries that those members posting their pics with hairy arses received many VERY positive responses commenting most favourably on the extreme sexiness of their hirsuite cheeks and crevice.
All that can and needs to be said of this subject can be found in a VERY long thread here on the board already. Should you take the time to read it, you will note the extreme aggravation and frustration of a few posters when tedium set in towards the end of a very prolonged debate.
Without in any way criticising your obsession, I feel free to say that many of us here probably do not wish to go over old ground that has been so thoroughly covered and discussed onsite already.

There are I am informed, sites on the net where just your exact form of bodily exfoliation is practiced, admired and encouraged, complete with hints and tips. Sorry I can't give you a link but as you will realise it's just not my cup of tea at all. I am of the opinion that it's far more attractive when men go with what they've got than fussing about a bit of body hair. I expect, want and VERY much enjoy finding it in all degrees as a part of being an adult male.
Perhaps some here who share your hair-phobia might be able to make some helpful suggestions in a PM to you? Or alternatively you could find an Album from a poster who obviously removes all bodily hair and PM them with your question?

I guess I take a little offense when you say body hair is gross, as I am very hairy myself, but unlike you, I think body hair is actually very sexy and (to me) masculine (another long heated thread elsewhere on the site)
