This is a long shot, but someone just signed up to the Jockstrap Central affiliate program who owns a Taiwanese underwear message board. It's mostly in Thai, but I'm sure some of them speak english. It's free and simple to register (i did it) so you may want to post a message over there. The website is:

You could try a shop called Domon in several of the big shopping malls of Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Pattaya. They have a website.
Generally Thai's are very modest and men and women dress accordingly on the beach ie shorts and speedo types. There are some exceptions, usually on the tourist beaches. On the gay part of Jomtein (Pattaya)beach you will see some locals and foreigners wearing skimpy suits and G strings and no problems.
Enjoy the trip.

Ahem - (clears throat)
Is the above correct, or do you have your countries and languages in a knot?
In Thailand they speak Thai.
In Taiwan they don't speak Thai, they speak Chinese. (Mandarin Chinese, I think.)
The citizens of Taiwan would probably have just as much trouble understanding Thai as you or I would!
