Leather and PVC

Hey deusex, what's up with the Leather and PVC section of the members gallery? Right now it's only viewable by members. Will it stay that way or will it spilt into G & X rated? Also there is no Leather and PVC section in the forums. I know you trashed this section in the members galleries. I would like too know why? Just for my own info (I think I know why, just want your thoughts). I did search the forums for the answers, but came up empty. Any info will be read and understood. Thanks RockHard

The Leather and PVC section was going to be removed completely a while back, but due to a mistake I made, it was still available for members to post to although it wasn't viewable. It got more complicated when members had subscribed to the old gallery and kept getting notifications of photos being posted to it. As I was swamped with work, the easiest solution was to reinstate the gallery for members.

It will probably end up leaving again at some point for the same reasons that we don't allow women's underwear or cockrings or dick shots without underwear. When it was in place, it was very poupular and guys were posting leather cock rings, harnesses, leather vests, etc. It's very important that this site remain focused on it's theme. In the 7 years that USG has been around we've found that if you give an inch, many take a mile. It sounds innocent enough, but when underwear enthusiasts are coming to the main page of the galleries and they only see 15 shots of guys in leather harnesses and other s&m stuff (which is clearly not underwear or swimwear) then we've lost them. Same goes for the women's underwear and complete nudity shots. We found both the leather posters and women's underwear posters were very prolific and you'd end up not seeing anything else in the thumbnails.

Anyway, without being able to say much, I will say that there's some pretty major changes coming - and although it may be a bit of a shock and may even upset people, it will be a major improvement to the community with (hopefully) better forum and gallery integration and better profiles (social networking). I have no time frame because my first priority is work I'm doing for Jockstrap Central right now, but as soon as I finish that, USG is next up.

Thanks deusEx for taking the time to answer my questions. It was as I thought and feared, this section will disappear. You do have my full support on this issue. It's to bad, leather I think has a place here. But not at the cost of losing old members or scaring off new one's. It's true give a little they want it all. Looking forward to the changes, keep us all updated please.

Just to add to Deusex's comments:

We moderators decided to do away with the leather gallery because this is not a leather board. That does not mean that leather or PVC in themselves are inappropriate here, they are still welcome as long as the pic is on the topic of the board (i.e. underwear/swimwear/shorts), in which case it will slot into one of the existing categories.

We are gradually working working our way through these old galleries, and those pics that are on-topic will eventually be moved to the existing categories, and become viewable again by everyone. Those that aren't, sorry, they'll be deleted.

I just like the appearance of the black and yellow leather slip (or vinyl or whatever material) RockHard wears in his avatar. Well, and now I am looking for a source to buy something like that there. Unfortunately, I didn't find exactly such a piece yet (only quite different styles...). So, if you by chance know, where to get such a nice bulge-comforting piece, would you please inform me?
