i've been wearing jocks as regular underwear for less than a year and i absolutely love the way they hold my cock and balls - i feel damn hot the moment i put on a jock!
but now that we're hitting the cold months of autumn & winter, i'm starting to find they're just not giving me enough warmth. mid-winter, i love to put on a pair of longjohns, but this inbetween season, well, i'm just not sure what to wear. too warm for longjohns, too fresh for jocks.

any guys out there who wear jocks as regular underwear all year round, despite the chilly winter temperatures? how on earth do you do it?

It doesn't get nearly as cold here in Perth as it does in Germany, but winter nights can still feel chilly - we are talking about 5 deg C or so. Since I normally wear tight jeans the cold goes straight through, so there are some times when the arse does appreciate an extra layer of insulation. On those occasions I find normal briefs (what guys here seem to call bikini briefs) adequate.

I also have one pair of boxerbriefs that I bought just for a change - there are a couple of pics in my gallery:

They are noticeably warmer than the bikini brief so they may be the way to go if you don't want to go the full long-john.

I THINK I also still have one pair of long-johns that I bought when I was in Canada - I have probably worn those no more than half a dozen times since I got back to this country, and that would have been in Melbourne where it gets somewhat colder than here.

I have seen blokes here wear a jockstrap UNDER more conventional briefs. Now I have no idea why they do this, ...whether they want their arses to be fully covered, or for sweat absorbtion, but you could certainly try it.
You would still get the thrill of a jock, and a little extra warmth too!

Well, I'm 73 and have worn more or less no underwear but a jockstrap since I was about 22 and I've never had the problem of being too cold.

For the last 10 or 12 years I've also taken to wearing running tights instead of trousers and they are some of them quite thin. But maybe it's because I live in Bristol, England where the winter temperature rarely goes much below freezing or stays that cold for more than a couple of days.

Maybe it is also because I don't have central heating so maybe I get used to occasional patches of cold air about the place.

cheers for the responses guys.

i do like the idea of a jock under my longjohns in mid-winter - great suggestion bondsman, will certainly give it a try when winter sets in.

great pics, and nice package :-) i'm generally not a fan of boxers, i tend to find that they crawl up my thighs and are pretty uncomfortable to wear. but yours look good! i guess living in a warmer climate like Perth, you certainly have the advantage of not having to consider winter thermals!

wow, i do like the sound of that :-) so, after 50 years of wearing jockstraps, do you have a particular favourite?

I wear a jockstrap 24/7. In the winter here in Canada I simply wear a pair of boxer briefs over my jockstrap to help keep everything warm and toasty.

yeah, I guess it can get pretty cold there in Canada too. maybe we'll get to see a pic in your gallery of how you keep things warm and toasty this winter?

Yes, more than one, but the good ones go out of business. The best was "Le Jock" advertised as 'the most comfortable jockstrap you'll ever wear' and it was. The pouch was made from nylon lycra and the waistband was covered with the same stuff. They got taken over and the jock was renamed "Le Jacques" and wasn't so well made. Then they had a fire in their factory and closed down forever.

cheers for the link. i can't say I've heard of "Le Jock" or "Le Jacques" before, but then again I haven't been wearing jocks that long myself. it's a pity that trends in fashion (or in this case, a fire) give way to discontinued lines. i guess it's just question of stocking up on the favourite jock at any given time!

i have been wearing jocks since i was 9 years old. i started wearing my older brothers jock and he just gave it to me because i alway had it on when he needed it. he just got another from his PhysEd coach at school. jocking it is the way to go. i do wear boxers over a swimmer some times in winter for warmth.

Hmmm, very interesting, .....why don't you ask him why he also made prostate glands that so frequently turn cancerous and manage to kill so many men?

Absolutely! I'm wearing a jock as often as possible. Granted I'm living in a climate that isn't necessarily frigid, but it still get's chilley. I have gone skiing though wearing just a pair of ski pants and a jock (that was fun!).

My suggestion, just go ahead and wear the jock and love the feel of your bare butt getting goose bumps!

moving out of winter, i thought i'd post here again to update on my jocks dilemma from last autumn.
well, i did wear my jocks as long as possible, but when daytime temperatures got below -5°C, it was time to put on something warmer. i was also spending too much time looking for bathrooms .... as soon as I would leave a warm building and feel that frosty winter air circulate around my nether regions, it was time for yet another piss! I spend a lot of my day outdoors, and finding a bathroom can sometimes be a right pain! Not only that, but any attempt to drink the recommended daily allowance of 2 litres of water whilst wearing a jock in subzero winter temperatures is, quite frankly, simply impossible!! so, it was time to try something else.
I took Bondsman up on his suggestion and tried wearing a jock under other underwear, especially my winter longjohns. but that was all a bit too much underwear under a pair of trousers. i found them uncomfortable and I didn't much want to go out and replace my trouser wardrobe with trousers one size bigger, just to be able to wear a jock under my longjohns.
so, in the end, i ended up sticking to my longjohns on their own. i do love my longjohns, but i much prefer jocks. it's a pity that they're just not practical underwear for winter.
anyway, today, winter seems to have passed ... temperatures are well above 0°C and, for the first time in months, i'm happy to be wearing a jock again :-)
thanx for your tips & suggestions !!

You could try just using a toilet when you need to piss - most cities have far more public toilets than public bathrooms.

In this country, a bathroom is - surprise surprise - a place where you go to have a bath - or more commonly these days, a shower, since showers have largely displaced baths as the standard means of personal ablution.

And if you want to use the real Aussie vernacular, you can call the toilet the dunny! :moon

The title of this thread always makes me think it must refer to a 21st century update of that play The Lion In Winter. :D

Could be - I don't think it's ever been documented what the English kings wore under all those vestments....

hi guys...
i live in France and wear jocks for years...i have never found something more masculine: enhance and hold your package + make ass free. Even in winter i like to feel trousers direct on my ass....

I couldn't help smiling when on a recent flight I heard a Yank ever so sweetly drawl to the stewardess if he could use the "BAIR-throom" while the plane was airborne. Now I do know that up the expensive pointy end of one of the new international airbuses that there is now apparently a shower installed, ....but this was a domestic flight in a very small prop driven plane!
Was he expecting to lay back and luxuriate in a foam-filled tub during the flight?
I still love showing any American guest who so asks to one of my "bathrooms", it actually has no toilet, and bringing them a robe, towel and soap.
After all, I'm only giving them what they asked for.
They almost become gibbering messes when having to speak without using a misnomer!
