do you use the fly?

i was just curious about this and was wondering what others thought ... ever since i started wearing more "fashionable" briefs and boxers that don't have flys, i've been finding myself not bothering to use the fly on underwear that does have them. when i first started wearing underwear without a fly, i thought it would be inconvenient; but now it seems like it's so much easier to just pull down the waistband and whip it out.

I used the fly of horizontal briefs or boxer shorts (not that I ever wear them). I don't use the fly of Y fronts or A front briefs. I think the fly on Y fronts is just too tight to use.

Since for the most part I wear thongs I just pull them down Unless I'm wearing something "kinki" like boxer :p where i use the fly.

For me it is important to choose a functional fly since I don't like the feel of the entire waistband tugging when I have to pull my cock over to piss.
Some of the standard American flys require a lot of bending and twisting to manuever the overlapping panels to pull my cock out.
The "Europa" fly is easier to some extent. This style has an "A" design which usually forms a nice pouch. The interior panel is horizontal so you pull your cock up and out the side. The Gosoftwear American brand goes a step farther and makes both sides open and thus handy for left-handed dudes.
My preference is the "H" design based on the classical Munsingwear "Kangaroo pouch". I take my moniker "slotpouch" from this design. I have FTL, Hanes, HOM, Sloggi, 2xist, and Jockey in this design. Most all-round comfortable is the Jockey mid-rise (unfortunately it is no longer made). Best feel of fabric is the HOM. But HOM is very pricey and is cut a little brief around the legs for me.
I also have some non-fly 2xists and Hanes which are comfortable to wear but not easy to manipulate for the take-out.

I always use the fly. Pulling down the waistband through the unzipped fly of my trousers is more work when I've had to do it, and causes the need for a lot more readjustment of clothing when done.

As I am primarily interested in fly-fronted briefs I nearly always use the fly, unless I happen to be trying out some of the "designer brands" that actually reduce the size of the fly so much it really only becomes a purely decorative feature.
I use the term "designer" loosely, as I don't know just who actually designs these things, ...it must be a women, because no man would ever come up with something SO impossible to manoevre your dick out of as some of the skimpy right angled bends and tiny slots seen on some of the famous names
I really like the horizontal fly-styles, as I find them not only super convenient, but allow things to naturally stand up and out, ....if you know what I mean, ...and I know you do!.
A fly just adds SO many more possibilities to a pair of briefs, and as I like guys to leave their briefs on, provides intriguing access options.

I don't use the fly to go to the bathroom but I often put it to good use in the bedroom. I think there's little hotter than pulling mine out the fly for some action or having one pulled out in front of my face. Well, yes, the standard USA fly common to all briefs such as Hanes, CK, et al. can be VERY annoying, especially if the object of your desire has started to stiffen. It is nearly impossible to manoevre an erect dick out of that fly-style at all,.... and often nearly as difficult to get a soft one out too! There are some versions that are so tight that your dick needs to be able to take a right-angle bend, ....NOT something most guys find at all comfortable! Or even practical to piss with such a kink in the plumbing ....!
That's where horizontal fly-styles really cum into the picture!
Easy to operate for both the wearer if solo action is the go, or the partner if indulging in a little "brief" sex, so to speak......AND it doesn't matter if you're a "leftie".
Of course some briefs such as McDonald's Calvin Klein are totally bloody impossible to use in ANY state at all! This is because they were designed by a women....true! No wonder those guys go "over-the-top"!

The American fly is the most ridiculous thing to try to use. 3 overlapping layers? I would pee myself by the time I could figure that out. But, I guess here comes my neurosis, I definitely know a major reason why the fly is no longer used. I say that button-fly jeans and low rise jeans/pants are the culprit. Button flies are just easier to rip them ALL down, so everything is out anyway, so might as well not use the fly in this case. The low rise jeans have such tiny zippers.....not going to get that dick through there......so same thing. Undo the button and pull down the waistband.
I have had many of the others (HOM being my favorite) but then, I end up never using the fly on those, but it is jus tout of habit.

Bondsman and I are alike in our preferences regarding the"H" fly. But I think we have it both ways since the horizontal fly on many brands is about the same level as waistbands on non-fly uw. Thus, we are actually "over the top" in pulling out my cock but still retain a little higher waistband. I agree that if the pants or jeans have a tiny fly, then I do the "total package drop"

This is a very interesting thread. I always use the fly when there is one, even a CK-fly. I don't like the European H-fly.
