These pics are taken of me at gym wearing the shorts I normally workout in. I removed the liner so I can just wear underwear under them. They do show off my underwear. These pics were taken to "purposly" show my underwear.

They let you train without a top (= singlet)? That's unusual these days.
Up until sometime during the 1980s, I always trained without a shirt, unless it was cold, and usually it came off as soon as I was warmed up. Those were the days. Now they all demand a top. Gyms have gone from one extreme - smelling of stale sweat, intimidating places to anyone who wasn't already a mass of muscle - to the other - housewives in pink leotards prancing up and down to the beat of some crap dance music tape, the benches sprayed with that sickly lemon-scented disinfectant, and short shorts are likely to get you strange looks. If you're a man that is, the women of course get away with training practically naked.
Ah, those were the days... I said that before didn't I...

I knew there was a reason I need to go to the gym more!

Nothing can convince you more readily that LYCRA is a definite no-no for wearing.
What the hell do they call those neon "string-up-the-bum" things women wear over their lycra leotards?
Truly, truly off-putting!

The gym I use is a 24 hour gym that is not staffed after 6pm. During weekends I go there at 2-3 am when nobody is there so I can take my shirt off. Other times I wear the shirt. As far as short shorts go, I wear mine there all time. Havent really got any bad looks but im sure there are choice words said behind my back. I can care less. I have developed smooth tanned legs and there worth showing off. Ive seen guys there with those stupid long shorts that always bunch up when they do the upside down leg press, the guy is always trying to keep his knees covered. Must be in secure to not show upper half of his leg.

The only gym I've trained at (recently) that came close to being as relaxed about dress was a place called City Gym in Sydney. It's a 24-hour gym, and being where it is it attracts a large share of gay clients - I would guess that over half the members are gay. You still had to train in a top (I believe health regulations require it these days), but short shorts were certainly fine, and you can bet I took advantage of that fact. I don't remember seeing many dork shorts there.
The steam room was fun sometimes...

Where I live there is no "gay friendly" gym unless I go to downtown Atlanta 30 miles away. All the guys that use my gym are long dork shorts wearers mostly straight or all str8 family types, yuppies, rednecks, etc. Late at night on weekends after 10pm youll get some younger college or HS kids there. Im the only guy there that wears short shorts. If I go to the gay gym in Atlanta, its a completly differnt atmosphere...Bike shorts..Tight shorts..Short shorts, whatever..Its also amazing the guys there are in alot better shape, even the older ones (40s-50s) compared to my gym where the same guys are all fat and most go there I guess to get away from family life..lol..

...and people ask me wouldn't I rather be straight? ;) :D
It's a sad indictment on marriage when you have to hide out in a gym to escape the wife and rug-rats....
