Did you know, that with the new Album feature, each photo posted now has it's own discusssion thread attached to it. It's similar to the old Member Galleries, except the system for posting new messages is a little more robust.
So, check out the photos in the albums, click on the thumbnail, and when you view the large version, at the bottom you can post your comments. You can have full blown discussions with the other members and the photo's owner.
Try it out!

Hi,
I think this is a GREAT feature, but I can't find a way of finding out if anyone's replied to comments I've made on their photos. I get a notification if someone comments or replies to a comment on one of MY photos, but I get no such notification if they reply to one of my comments on their photo (unlike if I comment on a thread started by someone else to which I'm automatically subscribed to by the act of commenting).... I've been leaving quite a few comments on various people's photos, and I now can't remember exactly who's photo's I've commented on so have no way of knowing if they've replied!!! Have I missed something obvious? Is there a way of changing notification settings as there is on facebook for example?
sorry if I'm asking a dopey question.... :-)

It's not a dopey question.
Unfortunately, the people who make the software that runs the forums, haven't included that feature yet. The albums and social groups are very new features and they haven't been fully flushed out, but I have no doubt they'll be expanded on in future upgrades. I know there's a major one coming, so hopefully that will be one of the new features.
kind regards,

My problem is, I look at every thumbnail sooner or later, and if I were to enlarge every photo that I like and write a comment on it I would be all day and develop RSI. So if your photo carries a comment from SweatyAussie, you can be assured that it stood out from the crowd - and probably also made something on SweatyAussie stand out.

thanks deusex, that explains it. I guess I'll have to leave asking specific questions (such as what brand or cut etc) to the forums or visitor comments pages.
and sweatyaussie, my thoughts exactly!!!! :-)

Just wondering whether there is any chance of restoring the 'My favourites' option on the site. There are quite a few exceptional shots on the site and would be great if there was a folder to file them in.
Keep up the good work, this is a brillant site.
Best,
Max

Maxine,
It was a good feature. Unfortunately, the old galleries were a separate program written by a different company than the one that creates the forum software (and the new galleries)
Unless they build the feature into one of the future upgrades, it won't be there.
The good news, is like I mentioned above, the galleries and social groups are brand new features to the software and haven't been fully flushed out yet, so I imagine there's still lots of improvements coming as we upgrade the site.
