Well...I have never posted but have dropped by for the past year. I don't want to be one of those "trolls" that just linger in the background and never contribute so I posted some pics in a member album and I hope you guys enjoy them. I enjoy breifs, jocks, thongs, trunks, etc. Anyhow, just thought I would step up and finally make a pisthttp://www.usg-online.com/forums/album.php?albumid=316

You are very welcome u_neek_sa;
and I'm very glad you decided not to be "one of those trolls".
Great first effort too.
I have always found those Baskit briefs to be a bit of an oddity. I really love horizontal flys, ...but they put that odd central stitching across it and really make it very difficult to acess, or use properly. I think it's an admission of a dersign fault. The Baskit fly gapes very badly if you remove the stitching. They should closely examine the Bond's S'port Brief or eben the older Munsingwear version to see how it can be down.

AND on a similar matter, I was totally pissed off to read in a glossy ad here where HOM was laying claim to inventing the horizontal fly!:mad::mad:
I had to read the thing twice to actually make sure that's what they were claiming, ...and yes, they were!
Now this really pisses me off because it's an outright and blatant lie!
How dare they lay claim to something that has been around for FAR longer than HOM has even existed as a company, let alone been manufacturing their VERY expensive rip-off version!
Any underwear fan who knows anything of underwear history will know that the very old cod-piece, when tied properly to leggings in medieval times was a virtual horizontal fly front.
And even if they want to lay claim to the modern day version I suggest their boasting should cease imediately upon viewing Munsingwear, Bond's, or Kangourou designs, ......ALL of which were doing horizontal fly fronts before HOM was even working out how to rip even more euros off we underwear fans.
Kangourou brand is even FRENCH! I have not even mentioned several cheapie Chinese takes on the very convenient horizontal fly-slot!

The hide of those HOM buggers!
I have already written a very stern letter to HOM, suggesting they curb their puffed-up self-congratulatory bragging, and do a little more research before trying to cover up their ripping off of a pre-existing idea... and then having the Gallic gall to pass it off as their original design. They are trying to pull the fly over underwear lover's collective eyes!
Instead of their vain crowing, might I suggest those smug HOM-honchos would be FAR more profitably employed sourcing a much more durable and half-way decent elastic for their current waistbands than trying to claim they have suddenly invented the wheel!:mad::mad:

I'm not completely sure about this, but didn't Hom buy Munsingwear, the company that did invent the horizontal fly? Maybe, this is why they are making this claim.

Even if I buy a McDonalds outlet it doesn't mean I can then lay claim to having invented the "Whopper".

didn't Hom buy Munsingwear

Did they? (I don't know either :) ) If so then why isn't Munsingwear available in the UK?

As far as im aware HOM didn't invent the Horizontal opening but they did patent it just like Thomas Edison wasn't the first person to invent the light bulb but he was the one quicker off the mark with the patent.

Bondsman can you email me a copy of the letter though as it would be a interesting read for me.

As far as im aware HOM didn't invent the Horizontal opening but they did patent it They would have to have been pre-empted by Munsingwear. Even Bond's had to buy it from them, ...and that was WAY before Hom was anything more than a very bad spelling of "homme"!
They MAY be able to claim a subtle difference due to the fact their version is slightly curved.
Bondsman can you email me a copy of the letter though as it would be a interesting read for me.
I'll see if I can dig it up and post it here.
It may be of interest to a few of us.

Bondsman-- the Whopper is at Burger King, not McDonalds. Sorry for the nitpicking... But I know we strive to be accurate here.:)

Horizontal flies are more functional for me since I am left-handed. (Great line in the movie "Gattica." "Right-handed men don't hold it with their left.")

However, I gave up years ago fighting flies-for-righties and simply peel down the waistband to pee. I still prefer briefs with flies (not the insect, you sillies) because I like the more masculine look. Plus the fly is not just useful for peeing...

I thought that made my analogy all the more fitting, .....Hom seemingly claiming to have invented something they didn't even manage to buy?
Oh well.......

i prefer briefs or boxerbriefs closed at the front, dont like fly openings, prefer to pull down waistband.
Besides they dont make the openings very big,and unless you are smaller its awkward to get it out.

There are bad designs in everything. The type of flys you are referring to are purely decorative at best, and put there to convince everyone their poorly constructed little panties must be for men!
