Just finished a shoot with new model Christopher. Expect to see lots of him in the upcoming weeks on Jockstrap Central and here too.

He was a star in front of the camera. He's also a figure skater for a living, so he's got a great ass. He's smart, nice and without a stitch of attitude (so rare for so many models)

Can't wait to work with him again.

We normally find our models through Craiglist, Now Classifieds and Kijiji. We post ads on there and they come knocking. We then hold model meetings once a month - mostly to meet the model in person as so often the photos they send are not recent. Also, the meeting give us a chance to figure out the model's limitations. We wouldn't want to throw a see-through jock at a model during a photoshoot if he's not comfortable modeling that sort of stuff. It would put a wrench in the whole shoot making both the model and us uncomfortable - a disaster for a shoot.

Cup supporters (=hardcup + jockstrap with a pocket in the pouch) are used to lessen the chance of an impact injury during contact sports, e.g. karate, baseball, football, etc.

It still hurts when you get hit in the cup but odds are there won’t be any significant injury to the penis or testicles.

I had a 17 yo patient who was playing shortstop (baseball) and the hardball hit him square in the crotch, on the cup. Knocked him to the ground. He saw me later that day and the only injury was a slight bruise in the perineum (the area behind the scrotum but in front of the anus). Penis and testicles perfectly ok. He told me, “I’m sure glad you had lectured me about always wearing my cup during a game or while practicing!”

I had another patient, 30 yo, playing pitcher in a “soft” ball game. Got hit in the scrotum, ruptured or “fractured” his left testicle. I repaired it surgically. He was sore and swollen for awhile but ultimately it healed nicely. If not repaired, the guy will lose that testicle—it will atrophy (shrink).

My son (now 21) has worn a hard cup supporter for Tae Kwon Do since he was 8. And yes, there is also groin protection for women who do martial arts. (PLEASE don’t anyone post pictures here!)

Sorry hangright, I've been away all weekend, but it seems like you got your answer. It's a bit confusing the way "We" decided to show off the cups. The hard cup come with an athletic supporter (jockstrap) with a slotted pouch so you can slide the hard cup into it. It protects you when playing contact sports or impact to the groin - as in hockey pucks and baseballs.

Here in Oz we currently have a TV commercial showing a member of our NOT so illustrious cricket team spruiking some product or other, I think it's razor blades. He walks out from the dressing shed saying he's "leaving nothing to chance". At this a fellow cricket player calls out from behind and holds up his apparently forgotten cricket box!

As in "Didn't I see him flogging fast food on TV now?
"Spruiking" also carries a somewhat negative connotation as though you are only doing it because you are being paid to do so!

Unfortunately, Christopher wasn't comfortable in exposing himself more than what you see.

We mold our photoshoots around each model's limitations. We have a lengthy interview process where we find out what a model is comfortable with and describe the shooting process in detail. We have learned from experience that you don't want to make the model uneasy during the shooting as it's a recipe for disaster. Asking the model to wear something they don't want to makes everyone involved (model, me, photographer) uncomfortable and guaranteed, that will show in the models face and stance for the rest of the shoot.

Christopher is a professional figure skater and a talented musician actively seeking to further himself in that industry and I respect his decision not to do the more erotic stuff.

Okay, deusex. I respect him for his decision as well. Nonetheless, we are glad he was willing and comfortable enough to model what he did. He's a really great looking guy and probably "hot" on the ice as well.:)

I think the English may use the term "flogging" for something similar?

"Flogging" is a rather down market word for selling. It might, but doesn't have to, indicate that there is some slightly unlawful deal going on. For example "There was a bloke flogging cheap Rolexes down the pub".

I didn't read any "negative connotation" in the Google definition but, as there is, "Flogging" would be a very suitable English word.
