I'm totally new here, so forgive me if this should be posted elsewhere. I just purchased and received my first #10 style, Red, Bike brand jockstrap from JockstrapCentral.com. I ordered a medium 32"-34" since I normally wear a 32" or 33". The elastic waistband is very tight on me. The 'cup' fits perfect. Since I know I cannot return this item, can anyone give me some advice on a method or technique to get the elastic more loose fitting? I would appreciate any advice. Feel free to even send me a private message. Thanks!

Break you jock in like you would a pair if new jeans. Just hand wash them, let them air dry a bit and wear them slightly damp. That advice is for those who like jocks but don't want to do the real breaking in by working out.....or WORKING OUT (hint hint).

Bikes are a tight fit. Do as Blackwolf says and next time buy a size larger in Bike.

Don't worry Diesel, .....I find they are always a very tight fit at first. However, as mentioned above, they DO loosen up fairly quickly with some wear and washing, which you can accelerate as suggested above.
A tight jock waistband is essential if you are wearing one for sport. It provides something to give the lift to the pouch. A looser waist will be more comfortable but allow the pouch to sag more. This is fine if you are wearing your jock for sex, ...but not really any good for sport.

Of course there are some who would say that sex is sport... and a good one at that.

I've been away for the long weekend, but firstly, thank you for buying a jockstrap at our store. The suggestions above are all valid. And Bondsman is right about the jockstrap needing to be snug if you're wearing it for sports. Bike is first and foremost a sportswear company.

Thanks for all the advice guys! I'm wearing and washing to see if the fit changes. Otherwise, I just might have to purchase a 2nd pair a size larger or even try another brand...maybe SafeTGard? Do these run 'tight' like the Bike brand?

Diesel, I do think you'll find all the REAL jockstraps will run tight sizes, as they are indeed designed for wearing during sports.
The "fashion" jockstraps, which are primarily made just to wear as underwear, and merely borrow the design, are another matter. The fit is nowhere near as snug.
I always think it is a huge mistake to buy a jockstrap that's too small. Many blokes do this and think it will look sexier, but a too small jock just cuts into the flesh in a very ugly manner, and pushes up the skin around the waist into pseudo-love-handles, and that just tends to make you look fat. A well fitted one is an asset on a bloke, ....it's NOT a tourniquet!

Diesel,
SafeTGard jocks don't fit as tightly (or as well) as Bike jocks. Unfortunately, we Jockstrap Central and International Jock have discontinued the line. I can't speak for International Jock, but we dropped them as they were impossible to deal with. We would place an stock order and we were lucky if we got it in 6 months. Not only did it leave us with sizing holes in our stock, but we had to keep huge amounts of money on reserve in case the order arrived. When the order finally arrived, there would be always be errors - omitting sizes or sending the wrong sizes/colors. Also, we would call and leave messages and send emails and never had any returned.
Luckily, Activeman came around at just the right time. Talk about a difference, the owner checks in with us weekly to make sure we're happy. We can suggest ideas for new color combinations and within a month they'll be in production.
They are as inexpensive as SafeTGard jocks, so why don't you give them a try.
If you ordered from us before, you should have received a postcard with your order with a 10% discount code on the back. If by chance it expired, you can always use the discount code "usg-online" that will give you 10% off your order as well.
If you have any questions, you can email me directly at john@jockstrapcentral.com

I wear a Bike jock to run in and I like that it's tight. Keeps your junk where it's supposed to be, which I think is the point, right?

Absolutely chijock!
I think many forget that a properly fitted jockstrap for sports activities IS quite tight, ......almost FLATTENING, rather than enhancing, as the idea is to STOP things jiggling around.

I think the BIKE jockstraps are still the best quality sport jockstraps around, much better made than the Safe T Gard jockstraps which I find start to unravel after a few washings. If you find the waistband too tight, even after washing and wearing it, then buy a size up. I find I buy a medium eventhough I have a 29" waist. I find that the BIKE jockstraps are much better after buying a size up, even then, the waistband is firm enough to give good support.

I totally agree with all you write joejock. I too ALWAYS buy a size up and never have any problems.
