What do you wear when you see your doctor?

I was wondering what you Jockstrapped guys wear when you go to see your doctor? I for one am wearing a jockstrap 24/7 so I do wear my jockstrap. My doctor has never commented on it. Do you wear your jockstrap proudly to your doctor's visits? Does he/she ever comment on it?

I have wore jockstraps for my physical exams and never once had a comment from the doc..........but the nurses have, they have said it looked neat and outstanding.

Clean underwear, please!

When I see the doctor, I wear new or almost new briefs, always clean, usually Hilfiger or CK. I guess I’m not brave enough to wear a jock.

From the other side of the exam table, when I see a patient, it is much more comfortable for me as well as for him if he is wearing CLEAN underwear, be they briefs, boxer briefs, boxers, the occasional jock, or whatever. It saves embarrassment for both of us. You’d be amazed what some guys wear to the doctor’s office. (Don’t they ever do their laundry?) Yeah, yeah, I know some guys get off on this. But not in your doctor’s office, please.

Remember what your mom undoubtedly told you at some time in your life: “Always wear clean underwear in case you’re in an accident.” Moms seem obsessed with this, but they also know best.

What mums apparently did NOT know was the fact that when you are involved in an accident, you will probably "soil" yourself anyway!

I can only imagine just what some blokes wear to the doctor, ....it's like the old joke about the man who comes home and tells his wife that his doctor wants to run some tests and requires a stool sample, a urine sample and a sperm sample. She looks at him as says "Why didn't you just leave your boxers at the doctors?"

I would have imagined just about everything in a general checkup these days could be self-administered, ....with the probable exception of the manual prostate check!
And now with that being largely handled by PSA, even those sort of contortions would seem unnecessary.
Maybe, if it was the "right" doctor, you could play "doctors" and check each other out?

Doctors DO see other doctors as patients. It’s very hard to be objective when you’re trying to treat yourself. You tend to over-diagnose or under-diagnose. And of course it would be hard to do procedures on yourself. Self-colonoscopy anyone? Self-cystoscopy? A doctor who treats himself has a fool for a patient.

And no, you can’t really do a prostate exam on yourself unless you’re a contortionist. Even then, it would be hard to do a proper exam. I go to my urologist. He has also seen me as a patient. (Down boys, we don’t “play doctor” with each other. We keep it as professional as possible, even though it’s a bit awkward.)

Unfortunately the PSA (= prostate specific antigen, a blood test to check the prostate) is not enough to screen for prostate cancer. Digital (not some high tech device; the finger is a “digit”) rectal exams are still required. A man can have a prostate tumor even with a normal PSA.

Screening is very controversial in the USA as well as abroad. The American Urological Association recommends that annual PSAs and DREs (digital rectal exams) be offered to men starting at age 40. Other physician groups in the US are not quite so sure. We worry about whether we’re over-diagnosing and over-treating prostate cancer. Jury is still out on that. Elsewhere in the world the recommendations vary widely, especially if there is socialized or government based medical care.

Best thing is to ask your doctor for his/her recommendations for your situation. (Please remember to wear clean underwear.)

You don’t have to give up sex if you are treated for prostate cancer. Though sexual activity may change, it can still be good.

Doctor's Visit

I always wear g strings and sometimes thongs but wondered whether it will be ok to wear a g string on my next visit rather than find some briefs or should I just wear briefs. I worry a bit about what the reaction might be in a g?

I pretty much only wear thongs these days and do the same when i go see my Dr. I asked a friend who is one (a Dr, not a thong!) about this and he said that he sees everything, nothing surprises him anymore...all he wants is clean undies to show that you take care of yourself.
Just my view, but when going to the Dr I want to have some sort of respect for their profession and i'm there to show that I look after myself and all that. But I do wear a thong and got a comment once...I was asked to pull down the front of the shorts i was wearing and he said 'I see you're wearing briefer underwear these days'...who which i think i said something like 'yup, I'm turning into a minimalist' to which i replied 'just keep those sorts clean' (meaning thongs)....

So there you are, my experience + an expert opinion!
