My wife and friends support my thong wearing on the beach… and expect nothing otherwise. I show up with a speedo and quickly strip down to a thong. Always have…Always will. Being a thong wearer motivates me to workout.

Here’s what I’ve found… the people that like it, men and women… will let you know that they like it. I’ve had a single off comment from a mother whose teenage daughter’s bottoms were just a bit bigger than mine. I get a lot of offers from men when I am in a thong by myself. That’s great to hear that for the most part, any feedback you’ve received has been positive. It sounds like the Florida crowd may be more tolerant and accepting of men in thongs than the crowd here, in Southern California. Here, any guys in speedos, and especially thongs, really stand out and draw attention. It’s baggy trunks for guys here, and that’s it. Of course it’s the opposite for women and girls on the beaches here now, it’s mostly thongs. Thank you for your reply. Maybe I ought to summer in Florida next year.

Agreed, I think more men are actually bisexual, or at least curious, but there was, and still is, a stigma about bisexuals, especially among women. So men don't feel comfortable being open about it, and thus are left with no option except to identify as "straight". I think it's actually more socially acceptable to be gay than it is to be bisexual.

I’m from Palo Verdes. I grew up wearing thongs on Rat Beach, Redondo, Manahattan, hermosa…Santa Monica. I have even surfed wearing only a thong. It’s more tolerant than you might think. Just because you’re not seeing more people doesn’t mean that it isn’t tolerated. You can be part of the change. Normalize men wearing thongs.
