These shorts used to be ubiquitous in Australia as general (manual) workwear and casual wear, but have become hard to find in recent years as fashions have got longer. You can even buy "longer length Stubbies" - an oxymoron if ever there was one.

I eventually managed to get a couple of pairs online from Lowes, a very longstanding menswear store in Sydney.

P.S. All these photos show the same black shorts; they look bluish in some of the images, probably due to the reflection of light from the blue T-shirt.
