Do you prefer single packs or multi-packs of underwear?

Just posting this question out of curiosity as it's something that bothers me slightly coming back to the US.

I know that the average American consumer places a lot of value on volume and it seems underwear is no different. When I was younger I used to like getting three or five packs of underwear but now that I'm older and have more of a disposable income I'm finding that I prefer buying single packs of underwear to curate my collection rather than have 5 packs of the same pair in different or the same color.

One example is the latest offering from CK, I'd like to have one of their pride thongs but I don't want or need to have all five colors they offer. They don't seem to offer them individually. I know the solution is to buy off eBay but it would be nice to have them offer these individually.

Which do you prefer, single or multi-packs of underwear?

Certain things, like sport briefs or jocks that are destined for the gym bag, I like in packs. I also like cheap white briefs in packs because I have an underwear ripping fetish. Also if I really really like a certain cut — I’m so glad I bought a mixed color pack of Jockey Life string bikini briefs before they stopped making them

Other than those scenarios I prefer to get single pairs, for lots of the reasons already stated in the thread.

A perfect situation would be letting customers choose our own mix-n-match variety pack, though I get this would be lots of work for vendors

If it's something I've already tried, liked, and want more - maybe in different colors - I don't have any problems with multi-packs. It's a convenient way to stockpile something you know in advance you're going to like and wear on a regular basis.

But for something totally new to me - maybe I'm not sure about the sizing or quality, or maybe it's just a crazy-ass off the wall design - I usually stick with singles. If they work out and turn into a favorite, I can always go back and buy more.

I like multi packs but unfortunately in the UK they are difficult to find. The only ones online are from China and quality and what one finally gets are kinda hit and miss. Suggestions, anyone?
