Hi y'all! Loren here. Long-time lurker first-time poster. I've been wearing and collecting underwear and swimwear forever, and about six or seven years ago I became dissatisfied enough with the "same-old" options I was seeing everywhere that I bought a sewing machine and started making things myself. I'm into taking classic menswear forms and adding something a little special to make it special but still wearable. I want people to see what you've got on and stop and say something nice about it.
Because guys should have more options. Society puts men into very small fashion boxes based on stuff like jobs and broad social categories and doesn't give guys many opportunities to express themselves through clothing from outside of those boxes.
I want to help change that. Nothing is for everyone, but everyone should be able to find something out there that lets them dress the way they want to and feel good about themselves. I started selling my designs at small in-person pop-ups before the pandemic, and then on Etsy. With a few hundred happy customers out there who helped refine fits for comfort and form-flattery and sourcing ever more quality materials, I recently took the plunge and had a first run of designs made by a boutique manufacturer here in Boston. The result is Bonded Apparel. I've got swimsuits and a jock/harness set right now, with more designs coming down the line. And if this works, I hope to put out more and move into other types of clothing as well!
