Swim Briefs

I understand why the term "speedos" is often used generically by many people when they're referring to male swim briefs, but I wish we could all stop saying "speedos" when referencing a style of male swimwear rather than the brand. "Speedo" is a brand name, and the Speedo Brand has many other different styles of men's swimwear, as well as women's swimwear, and they also make everything from goggles to tee-shirts to footwear. Yeah, they were probably the first brand name that popularized men's competition swim briefs, but the original company started with socks.

Anyway, the Speedo brand of men's swim briefs definitely deserves some credit for being innovative, but it's not even among my top five favorite brands of swim briefs. For myself, I prefer Arena, Dolfin, Sporti, TYR, Tru-West, and Adidas brands over the Speedo brand for my swim briefs. Sure, some guys might prefer the Speedo brand, and that's cool with me, but I think that they're over-priced, and the fit is generally uncomfortable for me compared to many other brands.

Another thing to mention is that there's also a difference between swim briefs and water polo briefs, and for water polo I like the Turbo brand of briefs.
(And the Turbo briefs also look sexy as fuck when wearing them to play beach volleyball.)

I agree that Speedo swim briefs are overpriced and fit poorly in my opinion. I gravitate toward N2N brand and other unlined bikinis or briefs. Once in a while I will wear a square cut if modesty is required somewhere...and Speedo square cuts are truly the worst fit!

Speedo were great years ago, more exciting colours and designs and 3cm sides, but now overpriced and not the greatest fit. For swimming at the pool I prefer Arena and Dolphin. If its a gay beach then much skimpier.

I would say that most guys here in the UK, would Refer to them as 'Trunks' There by covering every Range of guys Swimwear as possible. From Skimpy Briefs, Squ Cuts, Thongs and even the Baggy Shorts.

There's many different makes out there as well. Arena, Kiniki (mail order company in the UK), Kiefer, Hom, Nike, Designer ones like Bruno Banani, Maru, Turbo, Aussie Bum, O'Neill (they make wetsuits to I think) Tommy Hilfiger, Hind (not seen these about now, so guess they went, but were really Great Trunks, to feel and fit) No pics but even have some Calvin Klein Trunks too.
