swimming in shorts

I swim in my shorts on our beach since I was a teenager. Recently, my friends debated with me what is more comfortable to swim in. I was supported by my friend's GF who, like me, was swimming in shorts with underwear under them

Who else swims in shorts?
Do you wear underwear under them?

Yes, I mean such shorts. I walk on the beach in them and usually swim in them.

Not my cup of tea. Nothing against shorts to walk through town, but for the beach or even worse to swim? No. To much material, sticks to your body. And than wearing underwear under it, make the disaster complete for me. Stays wet for ages.

As little boy, about 3 years of age,
I always took of my swim clothes after swimming as I hated the wet thing.

I love to swim in shorts, even if they get see-through, as recently happened...when I got out of the pool a friend shot this pic: (actually I prefer just to wear the black micro string, it doesn't hide anything but it keeps things in perfect order.)
