Just so you know, Underwear Swimwear Guys is and always will be a 100% free site. And don't worry, we don't share your email or details with anyone. The site has been going for over 17 years.

So, when you're ready, we hope to see you take the plunge, sign up and gain full access to the site (again, 100% free). When you do, you'll be able to comment, post, react to and rate the other members photos. Plus, you'll get your own profile, you'll be able to post in the forums and if you're brave enough, upload some photos of you in your underwear - we definitely want to see them!

I think I know what StrykerMax is talking about. When you finish viewing one of the alert items and go back to the main page, the number next to the bell icon has disappeared and all the alerts are in grey, whether you have already followed them or not. In other words, it's as though you have read all your new alerts, though in fact you have only read one. They are still there, and you can still see them by clicking on them, but there is nothing to distinguish those you have already viewed from those that you haven't, so you have to remember which ones you have already visited. It's only mildly annoying, but it does seem to be a design fault.

That's not happening for me. Yes, the red indicator with the number is disappearing after I click on it once but any alerts about posts or other stuff that I haven't viewed are showing up in light blue. When I click on one and then head back to the alerts, ones I haven't viewed are still light blue, things I've seen are light grey.

For me, the posts I have viewed are on a white background, while those it thinks I have not viewed are on a yellow background. I think the text colour is the same for both, i.e. black text (not grey, I was wrong about this) except for hyperlinks which are blue, but I need to confirm this as I don't have any "unread" alerts at the moment.

I don't see yellow at all! You're using the USG Theme, right? Here's what I see when I click on the Alert (bell) icon. I have one unread message on a light blue background and read messages are on a white background (I incorrectly stated light grey earlier). Here's a screencap:

I did notice something though, if multiple alerts are referring to the same post, as soon as you visit the post in question from one of the alert boxes, all the highlighted (unread) notices will be marked as read.

Well I was incorrect too! You are right, there is no yellow, I was thinking of the other Xenforo forum that I visit.

This is how my alerts looked just now before I opened this thread:

alerts.png

Light grey/blue background for unviewed, white background for viewed.

I find that once I view one unread one, afterwards all of them appear as read, irrespective of how many are still unread. I can't say for certain whether this only happens if all the alerts are related to the same post of mine, as this is something I never thought to check.

As I said, it's only a very minor annoyance. It just means I need to count the unread ones before I open any of them.

OK I just logged on again and there were two alerts, relating to different threads, so I was able to test this out.
It appears that alerts thaat have not been clicked on continue to appear as unviewed, unless they refer to the same post, in which case once I bring up that post, ALL alerts relating to that post get marked as read.

Socratease1969 has not added any albums yet.
Page says "you've reached create album limit"
Just ignore it. You should be able to despite the message.

I installed an addon to place limits on how many photos members can upload per day but it's not working. Although it states the limits (sometimes incorrectly) it doesn't actually prevent you from uploading more photos to the Gallery or creating albums.

Try creating an album and if you can't, let me know. But I just did it with my test account and it's fine.

I'll probably just remove the addon until the developer comes up with a fix. He's apparently working on it.

Hi ! :) when i want to react to another member's album photo with anything other than 'Like'. for example: 'Love' or 'Wow', i read in FAQ that you hover over 'Like' link, to change it. However if I use a touch screen device, ive tried this but, for me, it didnt work. Maybe... im guessing one can only do this when using a mouse. yes i think its nice to react to other members pics with alternatives than just 'Like'. but yes i love this site, and seeing pics of others loving their underwear :)

You can do it on a touch screen , just hold on the like for a little longer and other choices pop up .

yeah... but does he dance?
1) Once, quite by accident, I was able to see a list of who's online...Members, Guests, Admin, etc. But I can't figure out how I did it. I tried to find it in the pull-down menus, FAQ, and help threads, but I must be overlooking something.

2) What's the purpose/effect of the "Select for Moderation" tab, when uploading pics?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can see the list of who's online under the the Members menu option and then "current visitors" link. You can also see a quick view of who's online on the home page in the right column toward the bottom on a desktop or at the bottom of the homepage on a mobile phone.

I haven't a clue where yo'ure seeing "Select for Moderation". I've tried to find it with my regular member test account and tried uploading photos through the Add Media button both to a Category in the gallery and also to a Personal Album and I can't see it.

Where are you seeing it? How are you going about uploading photos?

I've seen it before, the "Select for Moderation" thing, but can't remember where I saw it. I always assumed it was a way to alert mods to questionable content posts.

But as long as we're taking about oddball site features, I noticed one too. Every once in a while, on a member's profile banner, there's a bullet point for "Solutions", followed by a number, presumably the number of solutions the member has provided.

What the heck's a "Solution"? Anybody know?

That's one's easy: The software that runs this site was built to suit a variety of needs. I have the option to set up a forum category as normal, as a blog post or a "question" style forum. That's more for forums that are geared to say, programming communities. So if I had a programming question, I could post it and members could reply (aka solutions). The Original poster can then choose the best answer/reply and it will move up to the top.

It really doesn't make sense for us here but I did set one forum up as a question forum "Hey, Here's a Question" just for the hell of it. The point would be to for guys here to ask questions on say... best place to buy a certain style of underwear or perhaps best beach to wear a skimpy thong.

A-Ok, answers that one. Thanks!

re the Request for Moderation thing ... I found one, I think. Go to an album index page, hover over the top left corner of a thumbnail image, a little box appears you can check. If you check it, a little box over near the "mark viewed" button kicks in. Hover over that, you get a message "Number of Images Selected for Moderation". It's not part of the uploading process per se, it's just sitting near that button.

btw, I might have just sent you a request to "moderate" my 2022 Christmas post! LoL! You can ignore that one if you stumble across it! ;)

I'm pretty sure that's just a small mistake on the programmer's part or simply poor choice of words. That box is to to allow members to mass delete, move or change privacy of albums. But it's also used for moderators and administrators (like myself with moderation permission) and allows me to also do those things above but also do more moderation things - like permanently delete items, move them or approve them. I can set the site up so any post has to be approved before it goes live but I haven't turned that on so there's no need ever for me to approve anything.

Perhaps the programmers will fix that in an future update as Select for Moderation doesn't make sense for members.
