Liner for board shorts?

I am at a loss for what to use as a liner for board shorts. Something comfortable yet light, breathable and easy access as a swimsuit liner would be whether wet or dry.
boxer style would be nice but brief is good too. Are there any loose fitting netted skivvies available that would suffice?

So after receiving the shorts in mail, they have no support structure but are lined with a soft non abrasive fabric. I’ve decided to give freeballing a go for a while. I think perhaps it may work out.

Just throw on a pair of speedos underneath, mate. Designed for water and holds everything in place.

Then ditch the shorts

I would recommend a thong or jockstrap. Something to keep everything in place, especially if you're being active .

I always wear a thong or g-string swimsuit under my board shorts, although I have to be careful wearing dark colors under light board shorts, unless I want them to show through when wet. I've found it very comfortable, fast drying, and don't have to worry about getting a wedgie. Plus, if/when the circumstances are appropriate, it's easy to slip off the board shorts to get a better than.
