Guys, another reminder that this is an underwear/swimwear website. Let's keep it on theme.

Just spent the past hour deleting dick picks and totally naked pics from the Gallery in the underwear categories and photo challenges categories.

It's ok to post some dick pick and naked photos but they HAVE to be in your Personal Albums and should be kept to a minimum.

Let's keep this website on theme, after all, it's underwear and swimwear that brought us all here in the first place, isn't it?

I'm more concerned about the Gallery as it's an immediate impact when you go to the first page of any Gallery category and all you see is closeup photos of cocks.

The forums are a different beast. Some forum threads head off topic a bit (it's natural) and in the case of the one you mention, it's in the question forum and the question posed is about cockrings (and the OP does have swimwear in it).

There are a few places where you can post non-underwear photos (Personal Albums) and in the forums, I specifically made a forum for Everything Else because we're a community and sometimes guys need a place to talk about other things.

If there are threads in the main Underwear Talk forum category that weren't about underwear then I'd certainly move them down to the Everything Else forum.

That's always going to happen. I've been running this forum and now Your Jockstraps and no matter how many warnings and pleadings, it will still happen but I'm not about to police it as I'm trying to not to run this site with an iron fist.

What those posters don't realize is, if they post one photo, it has a better chance of getting comments, ratings and replies whereas when they post 20 photos, they may get one or two on the whole bunch of photos combined.

Unfortunately, the software running the site doesn't allow for that and perhaps I could fumble through the code to made an addon for it but I simply don't have the spare time to devote to learning how to make an addon and then program it. Would take me weeks if not longer.

The best way to discourage it it simply stop commenting and reacting to guys who post tons of identical photos. Most people post for the feedback.

Some, I know, post simply to use the site as a storage device. But trust me, that will get them in trouble as the site has crashed (or the site upgraded) a few times over the past 25 years and all photos were lost. It wasn't intentional, but shit happens. I always tell guys that this site it not a cloud service and there's no guarantee I can keep the photos forever. If a photo means that much to you, don't put your only copy on here.

Try asking on xenforo.com. There might be some kind of addon or something already for this to work. I've had a quick look, but mostly people want to limit the attachments, and since I havent worked on XenForo before, I don't know what Im looking at, so if you get a chance, try asking and providing as much info as possible for them and Im sure they will help you. Most of board scripts have this feature built in, so maybe XenForo has it too somewere, or a specific addon for it.

I think that will do the trick. Will try to purchase it and get it installed next week.

Now the question is... how many photos at a time is too many photos at a time? Should those limits reset after a day? a few days? a week?

I have always thought there should be a daily limit. I would suggest 5 per day. That's enough to show that new thong or speedo from a few different angles. Got more photos and you think they are all fantastic? Post some more tomorrow. Enforcing a 24-hour chill period on yourself gives you time to reflect on whether those extra photos really are that good. If you have dozens or hundreds of images that you want to upload, this will encourage you to choose the best.

I think a daily limit is better than weekly or longer, A daily limit of 5 images means only 5 will be posted at a time, and won't crowd out the ones uploaded by other members. If you allow 35 per week. guys will post 35 all at once, defeating the purpose.

I was thinking the same. Limit it to five per day. If there's too many complaints or feedback (good or bad) we can revisit and reset the limit.

As mentioned, I'll be implementing this next week so any more feedback between now and then is appreciated...

If it’s simply a matter of limiting repetitive postings, I can support a daily limit, but I’d suggest 8-10 pics – something the equivalent of 2 rows of pics on the average 16:9 ratio screen. That won’t mean much to people using mobile devices, but it’ll prevent posters from taking over a whole page on any given day and still allow one a little room to make different postings in multiple galleries on the same day.

On my screen each row has 6 images, but it's a wide screen monitor and I suspect many users who have narrower monitors or are using a tablet might get fewer per row.
In any case, your suggestion of 8-10 seems reasonable.

I mostly view this site on a desktop computer as I'm at my desk running Jockstrap Central all day long (and often all night long as I'm a work-a-hollic). I will check in on my iPhone X occasionally in the evening just to check on things.

Here's the difference between 5 almost identical photos in a row versus 10 on both desktop and mobile for me:
* this is in no way a comment on the example photos, just the first ones that I encountered to show the difference.
