What puts you off from buying undies?

For me personally, when underwear I like is No longer available, How expensive some underwear cost theses days. Majority of the underwear brands that I like are from the USA. it's the cost off shipping and postage and packaging and tax makes undies a niche and almost expensive items to purchase.

Not being able to find items in the market at all, underwear brands seem to doing the same thing as each other or No longer making certain styles or disregarding quality and comfort over style and profit.

1. Lack of pouch size customization: I'm on the smaller side and need pouch reductions for a good fit. Bigger guys need bigger pouches!

2. When brands don't innovate: customers get bored, new designs encourage us to stay engaged

3. Exorbitant pricing: I get increased fabric, labor, shipping costs and want small business like thong makers to make a living. But pricing a thong above $50 (like Tendenze) discourages people from purchasing

I like iswim from Taiwan coz they address all the above and are still reasonably priced. I keep telling the owner he needs to have currency conversion on the site itself coz people are lazy as fuck and don't want to convert Taiwanese dollars into their native currency lol

i get frustrated when you find underwear you like, and is is no long available.

These days, a badly designed website. A site that lacks a size conversion chart, doesn't have an option for multiple languages, has too many pop-ups or uses half the page just to display their logo - all things that turn me off when it comes to purchasing an item.

And then ... the sometimes crazy pricing. But that's not usually my first consideration. Yeah, there's a limit to what I'll spend on this stuff, but that's my problem, not theirs. I support their right to price their goods as they see fit. We all gotta make a living.

And lastly, anything that strikes me as just plain dumb! LoL! For example, a recent vendor I made a purchase from just emailed me a coupon good for 20% off my first purchase. Sent it to me after I made my first purchase! Dumb-ass thing's worthless now.

I dunno, stuff like that ... excessive, intrusive and mindless marketing crap ... I'm gonna think twice before ordering from them again.

I couldn’t agree more. And when they do have sales on styles I want they never have my size or the discount doesn’t apply to that color or my size. And how much material and labor goes into making underwear. Definitely $$$$

For me its price and shipping. If I see something I really like I may stump up the 15 to 25 $ or equivalent but then to add another10 to 15$ for shipping turns it into a unaffordable purchase. I also think that some brands see what others are charging and up their prices to match. Some prices are thru the roof. I have a particular thing about bodybuilders posing trunks and not that many years ago could get them on eBay for 15 to 20 $ all day long, now for a branded pair 50 to 70$ is commonplace. It doesn't help that high street shops have lost choice of styles and materials.

I have found some great and inexpensive underwear on Amazon. Since I have Amazon Prime, shipping is usually free. They even have some that resemble today's bodybuilder posing suits although they are unlined. The second link is to some posing suits available on Amazon but like you mentioned, they are more expensive. The third link is a sexy and barely there G-string. It is unfortunately currently unavailable.

Most of the comments above reflect my views as well but brands that dont innovate, lack of attention to detail/poor quality etc are my pet peeves. I don’t mind paying up for something that fits and feels amazing. I only wear thongs so there shouldn’t be too much to screw up! Also thongs are tough to innovate around as there’s not much material there. But ones that feel good to wear (back strap doesn’t saw me in half for example) are worth their weight in gold. And if i can customize with different dimensions, and fabrics…bonanza!

For me, it's probably "single tier" shipping costs from online retailers. By that I mean having to choose between paying a high, flat rate for a purchase of one or two items or purchasing more items than I really want just to make a "minimum purchase for free shipping". One jockstrap weighs very little and has a very low shipping cost. Why should I have to pay $10+ dollars for shipping?! Conversely, 3 or 4 still only weigh less than 16oz...but because they total say, $75, now I'm "eligible" for "free shipping"...absurd! Obviously they are pricing products lower and making up the difference in "shipping costs" that don't exist. I've mailed a jockstrap in a manilla envelope...it costs less than $2.
Online retailers should at least reward loyal customers who make repeat purchases with reduced shipping fees regardless of the amount of their single purchase total.
