Just spent a glorious summer day at the beach. Noticed that guys between 15 and 40 have boxer underwear under their bathing suits. What is this about? Who wants to stay soaked after coming out of the water? Don't they have a clue to either get a suit with a liner, be daring and go skimpy, or use a jock? Thoughts and explanations appreciated.

If I'm on the beach in shorts, I swim in shorts and undies under them. If I'm in jeans, I'm swimming in undies

This year we went to Lefkas, a nice island On the West side of Greece.
Many nice beaches.

The important thing is to be brave enough to put on your g strings. There is no need to do at a crowded beach, I rather do it at a more or less deserted place where some people might show up and admire what they get presented

I wear my skimpy flat-front bikinis & T-back things and walk around crowded Riis Park Beach. I like to wear the smallest suit on the Beach. (I tried strings, but people did not like the rear view)
Bears Rule! I am the hairiest guy there.
Today it was jammed, plenty of guys in things, speedos & a few one-piece suits; many women were topless (legal in NY State). Plenty of bicycles locked to the fence including mine, a great way to get good legs for speedos and short-shorts.
Riis Park is in Queens, NYC, the most diverse place on Earth, so we have every possible nationality and gender together. I have been going there since 1963, it has been a Gay beach since the 1950's and part of the National Park Service since 1974.

EDIT: I went to Riis Park on Aug. 21, the NPS is letting it deteriorate, with sections closed off due to erosion. Undercover Park Police were ticketing & arresting people for minor things. I won't be going there anymore.

I bought shorts last year for the beach, this year I refused to wear it, because it seems to be absurd to wear so baggy things. To cut it short, I decided to go to nude beaches this year in Greece and Italy. I felt much better that way.
